Hi everyone! I know I haven't been much around lately (tumblr is probably to blame) but I still love this place! Anyway, I'm going on vacation tomorrow so I'll probably be completely absent for about a fortnight, but I'll try to be more active here after I return.
In other news, I met the PHENOMENAL Don Rosa today on a signing here in Athens. I felt so honored meeting him! If you haven't read any of his stories, I HIGHLY recomend you do so.
I hope you all have an amazing easter vacation!

NEVERMIND, nevermind. I mean WOAH (I sound very unintelligent recently by my WOAHs and DUDEs and such... sorry!) he's very legendary, you know? Even though most people don't know him without searching him up xD They should! Did you get an autograph? Pics or it didn't happen, I mean, you Greeksters... er... sorry, it just sounds so cool I can't help it- you Greeks always get the cool stuff! Oracles, ancient artifacts, yogurt, Percy Jackson. Ah, Don Rosa! He is a great comics author! The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck *shivers* He is not my favorite, perhaps because he is too strict Barkisian (is that the word?), and I feel like that limits his universe.over a year ago
Thanks guys! @hajirah4: Haha! Seriously though, Canada has absolutely no reason to be jealous of Greece; the quality of life is so much better there, plus Scrooge became rich AND met the love of his life in Canada! ;)over a year ago

Woah. Whoever designed the cover was definitely inspired by Merida. And whoever added that description also added a lot of quotes from Brave in there. The story is really unlike Brave, though.over a year ago
Speaking about this, a lot of people before said that Kiara the Brave is a TOTAL copy of Brave. And it was pretty riducolous, they bashed a lot. One of them told me 'You'd have to be blind not to see that it's a total knockoff'. I mean, you can even see in the trailer that Kiara and the rest of the characters fly like Superheror/Superman into the sky. How is that so similar to Brave...? They were extreme Brave fans. Some of them don't even come here regularly so... I guess that explains it...over a year ago
@hajirah4 I think Kiara the brave was just so little girls will THINK its brave and get it on accident (thinking it's disney) so the company will be getting some of Disney's cash. I know this because at redbox my little cousin was like "get that one it's the new princess." So..not a copy just a mirage ... Also isn't "not a prize to be won." From Aladdin? People do thins all the time to make money (in a way off of Disney's success) AND IT'S WORKING!!! For me at least...I want to buy this book. XDover a year ago

Now that Mulan has moved up on my favorite DP List I now love ALL of the princesses, but I'm obsessed with my top 4 (Snow White, Anna, Rapunzel and Aurora), I adore Pocahontas, Mulan and Elsa, I really love Belle, Ariel, Cinderella and Jasmine and I love Merida and Tiana, for the DP Movies the same thing has happened, I love ALL of the movies now

So I have a much stronger love for the movies than the princesses, but it might change after I've rewatched The Princess and The Frog, Tangled and Brave, the 3 movies I have left to rewatchover a year ago
Can I just say that I have a real issue with the Ursula designer doll. Look how skinny she is. What, you can't be plus-sized AND fashionable and fabulous and pretty Disney?
Doll: link
I'm not saying there should be a fat princess, because it's not technically healthy to be plus-sized. I just want better representation from Disney in that category. Please.over a year ago
^They're dolls, because dolls count as merchandise. What I mean, though, is that the clothing is the main focus. Again, I think that it's just the mold. They don't care about the body, and they don't want anyone to talk about the body either. People should buy it for the clothing on the doll, it's the main focus. The target. So they just didn't pay attention to the mold. They don't make any extra effort to make the mold plus sized, even though it'd be nice. You're actually REALLY great at debating. You read all of the sentences to bring up a good point, which is one step ahead of others :)over a year ago
^oh, thanks. I was all confused for a moment now I get it. (Thanks for explaining that to me) Disney should start putting in a little extra effort to make it seem less ...controversial. It makes me all confused and what-not :)over a year ago
guys, you know how Angelina is supposed to be a Disney Princess in 2017? ( after her movie comes out in 2016). On the information on Giants, Angelina is supposed to be a merchant girl. If she is going to be a merchant girl and she is not marrying a prince( i dont think Marco or Jack are princes) how is she gonna be a part of the lineup?
Posted over a year ago
Oh come on, we've got enough princesses! I'm all for a merchant girl for a change (it's been a long time since we've had a heroine that wasn't royal by blood or marriage), so what do they have to go and do that for?over a year ago
^That's true. I do think that there's a big chance she will become a princess, though. How often is it that you get to see a love triangle in a Disney film?over a year ago
I agree. You see princesses and farm girls (like Belle and Mulan) all the time, but how often do you have a heroine who has a specific class title aside from "princess" or "chief's daughter"? It's something that can make her stand out and give her interesting characterization if done correctly.over a year ago
I just finished watching The Hunchback of Notre Dame for the first time (the end credits are still rolling) and IT'S ABSOLUTELY BRILLANT! One of my favorite Disney movies, for sure, probably in my top 3 with Beauty and the Beast and Cinderella. I just came back from watching Noah and it was okay. You guys know how people say Pocahontas and Anastasia are historically inaccurate? Well this movie is not accurate at all and it's not even a kids movie so it has no excuse. One thing I think everyone here will agree with, even if they haven't seen the movie, is that Emma Watson was absolutely PHENOMENAL as always! She's an incredible actress and is absolutely one of the most GORGEOUS women that ever lived.
Posted over a year ago
What Tygers_eye said! That's why it's basically a story that I guessed they changed around. It's like saying Princess and The frog wasn't historically accurate (it didn't even happen and not apart of history) until proven at least. So....yeah like PaTF it's not identical to the original story, but none of it is accurate to begin with. (Don't kill me) I now might not see Noah, it just seems awful.over a year ago

I don't know... They usually take something from the actresses or the live-action models (or in Jasmine's case, from the animator's sister).over a year ago
Well, it is really hard to make up a character with looking at a face (or other character that fits what you want to draw) I speak from experience it's very hard to draw from your brain. So yes, all of the DPs were modeled after people :3over a year ago
@RapunzelAnna: Yeah, sometimes. Whoever dresses as a princess for the photoshoot only needs to look like 40 percent of the princess. They don't choose them for looks, you know. Also, Ariel was based off a different actress, not Jodi Benson so I think that disproves your point... and Merida looks exactly like a model named Lily Cole, and that's who they intended to animate after.over a year ago
LightningRed! I don't think she'd leave without telling anyone. And she's more mature to just delete her account than a few reasons, she's pretty strong, you know. I think Fanpop took her account away because of some reports or such.over a year ago
I dreamed last night that I was one of the lead directors for a Disney movie. The story was basically The Little Mermaid but in reverse: young princess lives on land, wants to go to the sea, goes into the sea. As an artistic choice, I wanted the movie to be in the scratchy hand-drawn style of the Dark Age, her multiple visits to the ocean in the cleaned up Renaissance hand-drawn animation, then her going to live in the sea in CGI: to symbolize how her world keeps expanding. (continued)
Posted over a year ago
Sounds really cool, but also a bit like the plot of Return to the Sea. A CGI and hand-drawn animation combo would be so cool as we haven't really had one yet. I really liked enchanted's hand-drawn and live-action comboover a year ago
almost as if you don't even have a voice when a conflict surrounding someone else's job arises. For example: A lightbulb is broken, so one of the actors go and fix it. Meanwhile, the director sent somebody else to fix the lightbulb, and you took over the job and the person came anyways. Tsk tsk tsk. Anyways, so the producers aren't experts on these things, so their opinions won't be taken seriously. And besides, you seriously see them as ungrateful? You hardly know them. You don't even have any evidence to support that they seriously think what you perceive. Yes, CGI is dominating the animation bussiness. But that doesn't mean that that's what they prefer over hand-drawn. The marketers, or advertisement people (whatever) will encourage everyone that CGI is necessary, when it isn't. THEY get their hopes down.over a year ago
^Hajirah: The Snow Queen and several other hand-drawn films were being planned before Princess and the Frog and Winnie the Pooh fell through, then they decided to slash the 2D projects like Sweeney Todd victims and changed The 2D Snow Queen to the 3D Frozen. CLEARLY, people up there care what kind of animation the films use and can change yank one kind in favor of another.over a year ago
You know, seeing how Disney drastically changed the colors in their movies when they digitally "restored" them makes me sad and upset. I was just watching the trailer for Cinderella's VHS release (link) and her hair was red! Not red as Ariel's, but orange. And I know they also changed the colors in Beauty and the Beast. Just see a video of it in Youtube. And also Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs - I watched it in Disney Channel some time ago *keeps typing*

I just watched Beauty and the Beast and it is still my favorite Disney Princess movie. I don't know why, it just has a certain magic. The love story and the moral are beautiful. The music is great, it really feels like a Broadway musical, and the animation is gorgeous - it has a lot of mistakes (I don't know why Belle's hair is suddenly loose when she appears at the balcony when it was in a ponytail a second before) and the shots from afar of the characters are ugly, *keeps typing*
Posted over a year ago
But the close ups and the backgrounds are beautiful, and Belle's movements are so elegant. I also love how the Beast becomes more human and cute as he becomes a better person over the movie. Belle is still my second favorite DP: I love how compassionate, sefless, sweet, inquisitive, ladylike, witty and quirky she is. I don't know why some people think she's a Mary Sue. She has plenty of flaws: she can be stubborn, unwilling to admit she is wrong, nosy, condescending and a intelectual snob. I can relate to her so easily. I also see more development and change in her: by the end of the movie she is more willing to admit she was wrong about something.over a year ago
^But I didn't say she was in love with a cruel Beast: she was in love with the gentle, sweet Beast he became. I'm talking about when she refused Gaston, not when she made the deal with the Beast: of course she wasn't in love with him then! Well, I don't know much about love, so I can't really answer your question.over a year ago
Belle knew that Gaston was going to use her, be that 'Make me a sammich' husband, and such. He was very arrogant. Beast held her prisoner, but he did treat like he would treat everyone. Belle just wants to feel equal, and Beast didn't see her as an outcast. Gaston proved that he was a bad person right then when he called the beast and actual beast in the mirror. She knew he didn't respect anyone. The beast had a little respect for her. He was decent, but really cruel. At the time Gaston offered her the deal, she refused because at the time she was in love with the beast and saw his soft side. She knew she could make him a better person. Gaston? Not really.over a year ago
So, apparently Merryweather's gift to Aurora would have been the Gift of Happiness, if not for the curse. Eh, it's the most useful gift of the three, since she honestly doesn't need beauty and singing. I don't know why they gave her such useless gifts, they could have given her gifts that would make her a great queen, like political savvy, diplomacy, or cunning! Instead we get song, beauty, and, potentially, happiness. Sigh.

To giving her the gifts of beauty and singing always seemed kinda insulting. Like they were saying, we know you're going to be ugly and have a bad voice without our help.over a year ago

I disagree with tough, but she did show a rebellious side when she ran away. Is rebellious the right word, even? All I know is that she intended to break the rules, if that means rebellious. And I wouldn't be too specific on spunky, the def is pretty so-so. If anyone can give me one definition that we all could agree on for spunky and later discuss it, that'd be great.over a year ago
^ I definitely think Snow White is tough. Her stepmother, the only family she has left, tried to assassinate her, and she had just run through a dark and scary forest, but she still stayed strong, even singing a song about it. Sure, she isn't a 'tough girl' in the modern sense, but she's tough in the sense that she's resilient and strong.over a year ago
As for rebellious, she isn't really THAT rebellious, but she's definitely the MOST rebellious of the Classic DPs imo. And as for spunky, I think that word means someone with a 'presence', or a compelling aura. Which Snow White definitely has.over a year ago
I completely agree. I don't like when people try to make her sound tough. She isn't and that's just it. I don't think we can analyze very small actions of hers and use those to call her tought and spunky. Alright, I get bossy, but tough? Spunky? Rebellious? Not even close.over a year ago
I disagree with this page: she has spunk! Seriously, guys: she teases Grumpy all the time and just sweeps in the Dwarfs' house and start giving their orders. And I agree that she's the most rebellious Classic DP. I don't remember the page saying that when I last visited it, though: I must check it again, since it must have been updated. But her own page in Disney Wiki is quite good.over a year ago
Spunky can mean: pluckly, spirited. Spirited means "1. Full of or characterized by animation, vigor, or courage". Snow White is quite the lively, bubbly person, so she is definitely spunky.over a year ago

Okay, I need some help! I'm planning on doing an article about the Disney Princesses as role models where I will defend them, have some criticisms, but mostly defend them and talk about how stupid it is for moms to complain about them being bad role models. However I need some help with Anna and Elsa. With the others I've thought of ways that they are good role models, even Aurora, but I can't with Anna and Elsa. They're not particularly bad but I can't think of anything good with them.
Posted over a year ago
You could say that Elsa shows girls they dont have to be afraid of who they are as individuals and that they are all unique and Anna shows us to never give up ( she never gave up looking for Elsa)over a year ago
Well, they teach you the importance of family: Anna never gives up on Elsa and Elsa isolates herself for Anna's sake. Plus, Elsa teaches that sometimes you just have to let stress go and relax.over a year ago
Anna was always optimistic and wasn't afraid to speak her mind. She also always tried to help Elsa. She did everything in her power to save Elsa and Arendelle. She was selfless in sacrificing herself for Elsa. They are both good examples of love between siblings. Elsa accepts herself and overcomes her fears and worries and left so that she wouldn't hurt Anna or anyone else. They both try to fix their mistakes. I guess, that's all I can think of right now. Oh, Anna was brave too.over a year ago
I can easily see how Elsa is a great role model. Not in a sense where her actions like not dealing with her problems is something people should do, but she is inspiring to those with depression and self esteem issues. Those people can look up to her and see that when she kept holding everything in and not confronting her problems it made her life miserable and when she let everything go and learned to control it she lived a healthier life.over a year ago
Also, Elsa shows a ton of sisterly love. She sacrificed a lot for the safety of her sister and family. Same thing with Anna, she always would do anything to get close to her sister. She valued family time and was willing to understand her sister's problems. Like when she went off to find Elsa and talk with her, she was willing to do it and was positive that she wasn't gonna hurt her, that this was all a misunderstanding and that she wanted to work with Elsa's problems.over a year ago
Aw, I miss Prue Halliwell <3! I'm so sad she died. But then again, she died for the greater good, but still, the pain is strong :/

I saw some of the show, but not the episode when she died, so I was really confused for a while. Maybe I should see them all again. I don't remember Charmed too well.over a year ago
@Mallo, she dies in the Final Episode in Season 3, called "All Hell Breaks Loose". It's a great show, but also very heartbreaking at times ;'(over a year ago
Are you named after her? :O That just clicked! I'm not sure, but I think Prue was my favorite or second favorite character. I saw a lot of them with my friend.over a year ago
Reading RoseOfRapunzel's article about our first days on fanpop brought up many memories...It all started with an article I found by chance and I ended stalking you guys for 3 months before I actually get over my shame for liking DPs and decide to sign up. Then I wrote that Getting to know me article and all of you commented and I felt so happy! I remember that Gus wrote me "Welcome to the family- I mean club!" and for some reason I found that so sweet and beautiful, I literally almost cried. :)

Hi guys, I have a non-DP question to ask, how many of you have read and watch the Hunger Games? Because I'm planning to do both of them and is it as good as Harry Potter and Narnia? As I have been hearing things that it's like that disgusting Twilight Saga!
Posted over a year ago
It's nothing like twilight. I've read the books and watched the films and I have come to the realisation that it's just the media that says it's like twilight to discourage people from watching it (which is SOOO ironic if you get into the series). I'd say the series is better than Narnia in books but not in films. It's not as good as HP but it is pretty damn close. Check it out.over a year ago
The only reason people compare it to Twilight is because it's from Lion's Gate's studio too. I read both Harry Potter and Narnia, and know the gist of Twilight from my sister and seeing glimpses of movies. The only other similarity that the Hunger Games shares with Twilight is the fact that there are a love triangle in both.over a year ago
However, Twilight's love triangle revolves around a girl and her desires which makes it corny imo, and is the focus of the series. While in the hunger games the main character has stability issues and grows up in a crappy world where her choice of guy is less easier because she's looking for stability. Also in Hunger Games the love is publicized between Katniss and one of the guys as a means to survive. The true love story takes a back seat to the plotover a year ago
I haven't watched any of them (I wante to watch Hunger Games and I've seen some minutes from Twilight), but I can tell you for sure: Twilight is rubbish when you compare it with Hunger Games! I haven't seen Narnia either, but I don't think that I will like HG better than Harry Potter.over a year ago
I liked the Hunger Games for the most part except for the third book but i haven't read the Narnia or Harry Potter so I cant compare them. From the little I've read and seen of Twilight though the Hunger Games is more exciting, interesting, and not as focused on romance. The Hunger Games are more violent too I think. The films are pretty good for the most part and pretty accurate with good acting and action. The books are better though. Most people think the Hunger Games are way better than Twilight.over a year ago
We've seen Disney Princes who are beasts, frogs (Tiana is a frog too though), thieves and liars, but why are there no princesses like that? Yeah, the princesses do make mistakes too but most of the time their mistakes are not seen because they are supposed to be perfect. Why isn't there a princess who was rude and turned into a beast, a princess who lies like Aladdin does, or a thief princess like Flynn and Aladdin? If there was a princess like that do you think the Prince would still love her?

Ugh, because of some stupid 'gender roles' thing. You always see in media, people go 'aww' for a couple where the guy has a bad heart, but the girl seeks the good in him and turns him back into his s el. I guess it doesn't look as attractive if the girl is going to control in the relationship, and the guy can't be shy. if they switch their rolls, the fandom will become less popular because the majority of viewers won't like the romance. Whenever I'm writing my fanfics (most of them include OCs) and I switch the gender roles in the book, the commenters always point it out. 'It's so weird for Blake to act so shy around a girl. Why is Clarissa so flirty?" First of all, Blake is shy around Clarissa *when* and *because*over a year ago
she's acting too open. Clarissa is a flirt, and it's not meant to be taken seriously. Fanfiction.com always has huge uproars. I just quit my fanfic all together :/ I agree with you Manu, I'd like to see that. Most of them do make many mistakes, but it's all really ethical mistakes. If they had something like a dark past, or had to over-throw the throne and recclaim her true self, THAT would be COOL! :Oover a year ago
I was wondering, is there any Disney movie you find sexist/ racist and still watch it? (Not just DP movies). I find Peter Pan to be the only sexist and racist Disney Movie, but I still enjoy watching it. It even was my favorite Disney movie when I was little.
Posted over a year ago
yeas i felt that way about Peter Pan. i dont really pay attention to race although I HATE racism and sexism, i havent really noticed anyother. but some disney movies itself are about racism like HOND and Pocahontas they are trying to show Frollos viewpoint of Gypsies and Radicliffes viewpoint of Native Americans.over a year ago
I have to agree with Gus, here. Wendy is just motherly, her parents never give her the intention of BEING a mother. But I do pity her. I don't think that any of this has to do with raising a family, and I think she was satisfied with atleast seeing the mermaids once, afterwards. The mermaids were very rude as well, so I wouldn't be surprised if she was glad she never saw them again before. I do think she enjoyed her time, well. It was memorable, and I know it doesn't count, but in the sequel she seems very happy to see Peter again. Wendy wouldn't have that night in Neverland, any other way. You know? Again, I do see your point.over a year ago
There's nothing wrong with being a stereotype, It's wat she wants to do, Wendy is motherly selfless and caring and loves mermaids, that's who she is so let her be that way, it's not wrong to be feminine or motherly, I looked up to Wendy growing up and frankly I love mermaids too....a stereotype isn't necessary a bad thing, let people be who they want to beover a year ago

Thank you to all the Disney Princesses, all of you who have talked with me and a shout out to my top 3 Princesses I have loved for the past 22 yrs and will always love you the most, - 1. Ariel who shares a birth year with me, we both turn 25 this year! 2. Belle, and 3. Jasmine- I was three in 92 and named my adopted cocker spaniel after her, she lived to be 13 and passed away in 05. Dont worry I love all the other DP very much as well.

Ugh, lately on Tumblr and Fanpop I've been hearing the phrase 'everything a princess should be' a lot, usually to describe Aurora or Cinderella, or, less frequently, Snow White, and I really dislike it. I don't see why a princess has to 'be' anything special, the only thing that differentiates a princess from a commoner is the fact that her parents sit the throne of some kingdom. I can't see why princesses 'should be' elegant or graceful or demure or anything that people say they 'should be.'
Posted over a year ago
This is another reason why I like fictional princesses like Merida and Tiana, because they aren't really what people say a princess 'should be', and it's refreshing. I feel the same about phrases like 'everything a girl should be' or 'everything a boy should be' as well, I dislike how they place expectations on people because of gender and class. And yes, I do realize that these are fictional characters that people are talking about, but it still annoys me to no end.over a year ago
Well exactly what you said. I really hate it why they have put boundaries? And I don't feel every princess need to be graceful, girly and so and so. It's a shame that people think so. I feel pitty.over a year ago
I think as we clearly have seen by now even going back to Snow White - Anna/Elsa that all 13 bring something special and unique- it doesnt matter if they were a commoner or royalty to begin with or something that would equal royalty in a ethinic group or country. What I think is fun is they all except for Merida kind of- bring an official song, color, love interest/ prince, place/kingdome/country, symbol, fun sidekicks. And I cant wait to welcome more. Each one is uniqueover a year ago
Princess is simply a title. It does not imply any sort of personality that you must have, I hate when people think it does. It's why I love Grand Duchess Anastasia. She was fun, rebellious, playful, clever, and such a pranskter.over a year ago
I agree, except for one little thing. "This is another reason why I like fictional princesses like Merida and Tiana, because they aren't really what people say a princess 'should be', and it's refreshing. " ..I don't know, I feel that that sentence sorta puts some of the blame onto Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora, etc., when in reality the blame should be put onto the people who are calling them the perfect princesses. It's not as if the princesses themselves are saying "All princesses should be like me!!", it's just that society has a skewed view on the matter. In many cases, it bothers me more with the fact that people praise others for "braking the mold" when they're the ones who set the mold to begin with.over a year ago
Kind of random, but what's everyone's favorite song from Tarzan? I've been listening to the Broadway soundtrack. I would of loved if the characters actually sang the songs Phil Collins does, in the movie like they do the musical :3

I can't speak for why your friends now hate it, but it's just less hyped up. It happens with every popular movie. I'm glad the hype is near over to be honest, although the Frozen hate has yet to completely cease as well.over a year ago
Not for me, today at last period in class, people played Let it Go. Again, but hey, I won't ruin the fun... not to mention, the mods are completely showering the Frozen club. That's nothing bad, though. It's ctually very refereshing to see them contribute to something of Disney, I just wish they could extend of to CAMHeroines/CAMHeros, DP club, Walt Disney Animated Characters, Classic Disney, etc...over a year ago
My personal theory is that Frozen is one of those movies that seems great the first time you see it, but the more you watch it and think about it the more plot holes and inconsistencies you start to notice. I went in WANTING to hate it, couldn't find anything wrong with it, then begrudgingly admitted it was a good quality movie. Then I saw it again with my mom, and started to notice little flaws I hadn't before. Now, the more I think of it, the more I've noticed how things don't add up. I don't think people are hating it necessarily, I think the "honeymoon phase" is over and people are starting to notice more flaws with the film now that they're getting a chance to watch it regularly.over a year ago
I heard the rumor, and quite frankly, I want it to be true! I loved the original, and I honest to God hope they don't screw up the sequel. Lol, but I would watch it either way!over a year ago

Hey guys, again, sorry I've kinda been lurking recently! I've been having full-on days, and this week is gonna be even better. There's a huge muck-up day that everyone at my uni is invited to, and we go around the city selling satirical newspapers for charity (hopefully gonna be awesome!!!!)

Hey guys! I just created a POTM Forum where you can talk about the POTM, her movie, the prince, how much you like the movie, what you dislike, your favorite scenes, what you'd change, basically gush or bash in whatever way you see fit! The princess of the month this month is Cinderella, so if you wanna stop by the forum and maybe rate the movie out of ten and give a review, then we can start to have discussions or whatever that'd be cool :3

I just finished watching Hercules and I honestly think it's fantastic! It's still my least favorite of the Renaissance films but still in my top 30 favorite Disney movies. The songs are awesome, except for Phil's song (which SUCKS) and my favorite of course is Go The Distance, more so the Michael Bolton version, BRILLIANT voice! I love the characters! Hercules and Meg are both great characters, though Herc is a real moron that doesn't use his head AT ALL *continues to type in comments*

I also have to say, though unpopular opinion, that while I love Meg she is absolutely one of the most hideous animated movie heroines EVER! I know it's the style of the film but I HATE the style, the character designs SUCK! The animation itself is stunning but the character designs just look terrible! The movie is kind of over the top at times and the fact that it's telling several different stories might have worked as a film franchise but overall it's still pretty dang awesome!over a year ago
For years, Hercules was literally the only animated film besides Alice In Wonderland my sister would watch. I still love it too, even if the "popular opinion" is that it's not a very good movie. I loved it when I was a kid and still love it now. I think it's beautiful, fun, witty, clever, etc.over a year ago
OMG OMG OMG GUYSSS guess who won second place in the talent show? The Belle of the house herself! I don't mean to brag, but my performance went amazing! I did mess up a bit at the begining, but I improved it by stretching a note on the second chorus, and that got everyone on their feet cheering! The talent show was absolutely phenomenal, the performances, GAH they were amazing! I was tied with a girl that performed a phenomenal piano piece she composed herself. *types more in comments*

She did a spectacular job, the piece was absolutely stunning! The first place winner definitely deserved her spot. She performed one of the most moving monologues I have ever heard in my life! Anyway, their were laughs, cries (not really), and the show just kept everyone at the edge of their seat. The directot of the event picked fantastic performers, of course their were two that were kind of lame, but who cares when you've got that many great performances.over a year ago
OH MY DEAR DEAR DISNEY, I just realized why they changed the movie's name; Moana into Spirited. PHEW. Besides, I prefer Spirited, but it always makes me think of Spirited Away and Pocahontas. Moana sounds modern, actually. It doesn't sound like the name for a fairytale. I mean, I could get 'The Secret Island' but Moana? Not really...
Posted over a year ago
Hmmn. It doesn't sound modern to me at all, but I do agree that it doesn't necessarily sound like a fairytale. I guess I shouldn't nitpick over the TITLE, but I prefer Moana.over a year ago
I personally don't care whose name shares "Moana." You can technically find many disturbing connections to names on search engines. I'd rather see a movie with the name of the main character (like Cinderella or Mulan) than a one-word description title (like Tangled, Brave or Frozen).over a year ago
I just watched Mulan, so I'll sing praises to it. It's a great movie, probably my 6th favorite, fantastic, really. I liked the more serious scenes over the comic ones, but these were good too. I love Mulan more now, she is no longer my last favorite, probably my 6th favorite. She is a complex character, with great character development, and I love her loyalty to her family and her intelligence. I don't like her carelessness, her awkwardness and her hero complex in the matchmaker scene, though.
Posted over a year ago
But otherwise I like everything about her: yes, even her hypocrisy. I also love Shang, he's probably my favorite prince now. That movie has a great cast of characters, btw. I can't decide who I love more besides Mulan: Shang, the soldiers, the Emperor or Chi Fu. Grandma Fa is great too. Mushu is funnier than I remembered, even though I don't like some of his scenes.over a year ago
The animation is great, prolly one of the best. Mulan is stunning when she's a girl, she'll probably move up in my prettiest list: I love her hair and her slanted eyes. However, when she's a boy she isn't so pretty: her eyelashes disappear, her face becomes more square and her eyes become awkwardly wide. I love the sountrack, and Shan Yu is a great villain: they're both probably moving up in my lists, but I don't know if I'll have room for Shan Yu. The only thing I absolutely dislike and would change is the ending: those chickens, ugh. I would probably end it with the Fa family going inside the house for dinner after Mulan kisses Mushu, with a grand instrumental version of Honor to Us All.over a year ago
