I don't know if the line "I will always choose you-I will gladly let Bonnie die" was meant to be a foreshadowing. But I did notice how in 2x21 when Damon said that no one had to die, and Alaric said that yes, Bonnie would have died, Damon punched the wall and broke it in pieces. He was furious about the idea of Bonnie dying...and didn't he say he would gladly let her? Sorry, maybe I overanalyze way too much but that's what I felt when I saw the scene. Posted over a year ago

I think Damon saying he'd gladly let Bonnie die was to deflect that just a few hours before he was told by Bonnie that he might care and then that care was CONFIRMED when Damon stroked UNDEAD Bonnie's face knowing she was coming back. But yes, I need notice him punching the wall when Alaric say Bonnie would die. If he could have gladly let her die, why get enraged at that point. :) over a year ago

^^This. ;) Have to agree that he hit the wall for Stefans sacrifice for him messing up, but also because he didn't save Bon in the first place to sacrifice her now. As for those words, he's gonna eat them - you just know it. :) over a year ago
