The One Direction star is letting his hair grow its longest yet but kept it off his face with a wavy hair band

One Direction hunk Zayn Malik looks as if he’s been swapping hair bands with his wife-to-be Perrie Edwards after he was spotted wearing a wavy hair band.

The That\'s What Makes You Beautiful hitmaker, who joined the rest of the One Direction boys – Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne and Niall Horan for a secret book signing this week – was seen wearing a pair of light grey ripped jeans with a white t-shirt.

Zayn, who got engaged to Little Mix beauty Perrie last year, was spotted leaving a top secret location with the rest of the lads last night wearing a hair band that looks like it could be one of the Salute singer\'s.

Perhaps Zayn, who is sporting longer hair than ever, is going for the footballer look these days - David Beckham was partial to a wavy hair band or two in his day and we know Harry Styles is also a big fan.

Yesterday, Zayn complete with beard wore his hair slicked back and he looked super-cute in a chunky knit grey jumper and a pair of skinny black jeans as they met with fans for the secret signing, where they signed copies of their new autobiography, One Direction: Who We Are.

Fans lucky enough to meet the guys were must have been so quick to snap the tickets up as they reportedly sold out in a less than one minute.

They Directioners were told to meet at a specific location before they were then taken by coaches to the mystery location.

Last week, the 1D boys claimed that they are so close that they feel "like brothers" and find it hard to remain angry at each other if they have a bust up.

The Steal My Girl stars, who released their video for the new single last week, were initially put together on The X Factor in 2010 after they each auditioned as solo artists, but it’s worked out for the best as they are so tight.

Louis Tomlinson feels that he’s grateful for the support that the boys can give each other and isn’t confident that he would have been able to make it on his own.

“We’re like brothers really,” he said. “The best part about being in a band is just having each other to be honest."

Louis continued: "I personally don\'t think I could do it as a solo artist. It would be intense and hard to comprehend. It\'s good to be able to speak to people who know exactly where you are personally."

But with real life brothers there can be fisticuffs and Louis confesses that there are often “little scuffles” between the lads, which includes Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Zayn Malik and Niall Horan, but they make up really quickly.

While Liam added to J-14 magazine: "Honestly, if we ever have a little row or a bust-up, I try to be mad but it ends up being impossible.

"Louis will come to my room and throw a joke at me and then here we are."

On Friday we were excited to see One Direction\'s new music video for Steal My Girl.

It was finally released and despite the controversy surrounding the use of a chained monkey in the promo - it\'s actually pretty amazing. 

The boyband feature in the video alongside legendary Hollywood actor Danny DeVito who plays the director.

Ballerinas, a lion, sumo wrestlers doing the Mexican wave with Zayn, Maasai warriors, you name it, it\'s in this new video, and the Vevo website thankfully didn\'t crash at 4pm today when thousands of fans clicked online to watch the premiere.

We\'ve fallen in love with the band all over again - especially the rain starts pouring down in the desert and Harry\'s hair gets wet. SWOON.
