2016 is well underway, and I don’t know about you, but I’m ready for those summer blockbusters already. GIVE ME SOME POPCORN AND A PAIR OF 3D GLASSES AND I’M HAPPY. Lucky for us, there are a bunch of super-geeky, action-packed films to look forward to. (I hope you’re in the mood for superhero movies, because we’re in store for a lot of them). Here are the geekiest movies coming out this year!

Coming out on March 25, we’ll finally get to see Ben Affleck as the Dark Knight himself. Batman shows up to keep Superman in check, but we’ll see who wins the fight. Jesse Eisenberg should play an interesting Lex Luthor as well.

We’re pumped for this showdown between Captain America and Iron Man. The government has demanded that superheroes be held accountable for their actions, creating a rift in the superhero universe. You know if Tony Stark is going to be involved, we’re in store for some major sass.

This movie will be out on May 27, 2016. Oscar Isaac (so hot right now) joins the crew as the titular villain Apocalypse. Some are worried there be 

, this geeky film is set to come out on June 10, 2016. Duncan Jones (son of David Bowie) is the writer/director who is hoping to break the video game adaptation curse.

The latest installment in the Star Trek franchise will hit theaters on July 8th. Lots of people have mocked the action-packed trailer set to a Beastie Boys track, but then again, the film is directed by 

We’ve all heard plenty about this David Ayer movie set to be released in August 2016. Will it live up to the hype (and will Jared Leto be too much)? Only time will tell.

Benedict Cumberbatch (aka Butterball Chowderpants), stars in this Marvel movie coming in November 2016. This movie will be a bit of a departure from the usual superhero movies, as it involves

While we don’t know much about the newest installment of the Star Wars franchise, fans are busy speculating. Many believe the The Dark Lord himself will make an appearance in this film, set to be released December 16, 2016. Word on the street is there will be no Jedi presence in the film, but we’ll have to wait to be sure.
