Some comic book movie characters were almost portrayed very differently on the big screen.
Comic book movies have seen a lot of character concepts dramatically changed from those in the comics – often resulting in anger from fans of the original material.
Galactus was depicted as a giant cloud in Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, as was Parallax in Green Lantern, while the Juggernaut was depicted as a mutant in X-Men: The Last Stand and the Phoenix was presented as a mere alter-ego of Jean Grey in the same movie, the Mandarin was completely re-imagined as a fictional concept to act as a decoy for Aldrich Killian in Iron Man 3 and Blackheart was less monstrous demon and more emo teenager in Ghost Rider, just for a few examples.
However, the final versions of comic book movie characters, in a lot of cases, could have been very different had some of the pre-production ideas come in to fruition.
That’s right, not all characters in comic book movies – or any movies for that matter – were originally cut and dry ideas in terms of their presentation and it’s those instances from comic book movies that we’re going to be taking a look at in this article.
