Now, Zelda has a lot of great bosses. And, I want to talk about my most favorites. Now, remember, this is only my opinion. If there is a boss on here that you didn’t see, but wanted to see, then I’m sorry, but its my opinion. Now, with that said, lets start the list
#10: Odolwa from Majora’s Mask - I’m gonna be honest. I did not like most of the bosses in Majora’s Mask. They were all too boring, too annoying, or too easy. Odolwa, however, was an exception. This is the first boss you face in the game, and, for a first boss, MAN, is he hard. His sword reaches long distances, he can shoot fire, and he even attacks you with…. uh…. bugs? Okay. And, he can also take out a lot of health if you’re not careful. Gohma from Ocarina of Time should be ashamed.
#9: Helmasaur King from A Link to the Past - Now, this is a pretty cool boss. He is a giant lizard… I think, with a mask made of steel, which hides his weak spot. The only way to break the mask is by using either the Hammer or the Bombs. But, it isn’t easy, since he shoots fireballs out of his mouth, which explode and turn into smaller fireballs. He can also swing his tail around to hit you. Once you do break the mask, everything moves MUCH quicker, so you’ll need to defeat him fast. It’s such a fun fight that keeps you on your toes… speaking of which
#8: Kalle Demos from Wind Waker - Now, even though the boss really looks like something out of the Muppet Show, it’s its shell you need to worry about. He hides inside of a large plant that hangs from the ceiling. The only way to get to him is to cut down the vines that are holding him with the boomerang. However, as you do this, you are being attacked by these sharp vines, that swing at you if you stand still for too long. Once you do cut him down, just go crazy on him. But, you’d better get out quick, or else he’ll eat you… then spit you out. This boss fight also keeps you on your toes, as you are always moving. I love it so much
#7: Stallord from Twilight Princess - Damn, this boss fight was insane. Stallord is a giant skeleton that has an army of dead soldiers around the arena to prevent you from attacking. You have to use the Spinner to get close to him and break his spine. However, the soldiers try to block you, so you’ll need to kill them before you can attack Stallord. After you break his spine enough times, he will fall and all that will be left is a head. But, it’s not over yet. No, that is what the game wants you to think. Stallord’s head then begins to attack you. This is where the fun REALLY begins. You then ride your Spinner up the rails, while dodging Stallord’s fire balls. You then crash the Spinner into his head and attack his weak spot. This boss fight is just perfect. Without question
#6: Helmaroc King from Wind Waker - Now, even though this boss has predictable attacks, and he never hit me once, even when I played this game at the age of 7, there is one reason I love this boss fight so much. It’s satisfying. This is the bird that kidnapped your sister, and tried to kill you, and put you on this adventure in the first place. So, what do you do. You smash his face in with a giant hammer, of course. I dare you to fight this boss and tell me it doesn’t feel good to smash his head with a hammer bigger than Link’s whole body
#5: Eox from Phantom Hourglass - Now, this is just so awesome. Eox is, as the fame calls him, an ancient stone soldier. The fight has you launch yourself into the sky, and use the hammer, which is my favorite item in Phantom Hourglass, and actually break off pieces of Eox. You can actually see damage on his body for each hit. Once you finally destroy it all, he then turns into a soldier made of wood. Just launch yourself into the air and destroy the four panels on his chest and he will collapse. But, you will then need to destroy his head. This time, you use the catapults to land on his head and attack the weak spot on his head. Now, this sounds a lot like Stallord. So, why do I prefer this over Stallord? Well, Well, as fun as it was to ride the Spinner, you have to admit, launching into the air and destroying a giant monster made of stone in the process is just awesome
#4: Twinrova from Ocarina of Time - Finally, a boss from Ocarina of Time. Now, Twinrova is the two Witch Sisters, Koume and Kotake, fused together. The first phase is Koume and Kotake firing fire and ice at you. You use the mirror shield to deflect the spell back at one another. Once you defeated the first phase, they then fuse into one large witch that uses both fire and ice. You use the mirror shield again to absorb the spells, whether it being fire or ice, and then the mirror shield fires a spell back at Twinrova, where you then go and fight her off. This boss fight was amazing, especially at the time this game was released. Also, I got to give this boss fight points for when you defeat her. The cutscene is priceless
#3: Zant from Twilight Princess - Throughout the game, Zant was a threatening, cruel, and merciless villain who will do whatever it takes to gain complete control.. However, once you confront him, things change. Now, he is acting all insane and goofy, due to the fact that his plans have been thwarted by Link and Midna, and has now finally snapped. Then there’s the boss fight. You fight Zant in multiple areas, most being the areas of the bosses you already fought in the game. He does so much insane things, like jump around on poles, Make a giant figure of himself, and dances… okay. The music in the background even gets more insane as you keep beating him. I like this fight, mostly due to how it shows Zant’s insanity and how it gets worse and worse with each minute
#2: Ganon from Ocarina of Time - So, after you defeat Ganondorf and escape the collapsing castle, you think its over… OR IS IT? After you go and check on a sound that Zelda heard, you then find out that Ganondorf is still alive. Ganondorf then uses the power of the Triforce of Power, and transforms into Ganon. He is now ten times your size, has two giant sword, and the atmosphere… Dear God, the atmosphere. The dark colors only being lit by lightning adds real well to the fight, especially with Ganon, who is towering over you. I don’t even care about the fight itself, it is this moment, right here, that I love so much about this boss. But, who could be better?
#1: Ghirahim from Skyward Sword - Yes, yes, yes. SO MUCH YES! Ghirahim is an amazing villain. A psychotic, sadistic madman who is the King of the Demons that you face in the game, and he really proves that he is. All he cares about is (SPOILER WARNING) resurrecting Demise, which, if you ask me, is the worst villain in the entire franchise. But, other then Ghirahim’s amazing personality, there is the fact that you don’t just fight him once, but three times. All of which are amazing. The first battle, he is always blocking your attacks… With his hand. HIS HAND IS BLOCKING YOUR SWORD! Not only that, but he can STEAL YOUR SWORD OUT OF YOUR HAND! Name any other boss that steals your sword. Well, Wind Waker did it, but it was a dungeon, not a boss. Anyway, the second battle has him fight you with two swords. Oh, and if he hits you, he will actually lick the blades of his sword. Like I said, this guy is a sadist. And having someone like that in a Zelda game is terrifying. Then, there is the third and final fight with him. He now throws punches at you, and swords are useless against him. All you can do his knock him off the edge and then stab him in the chest. This boss fight is just amazing. Ghirahim has to be my most favorite villain in the franchise, and he is a lot better than his So Called “Master”
Well, there you go. Did you like the list. Tell me what you thought. With that said, I will see you all next time
