Now, final bosses are the final challenge of the game, between you and the completion of the game. And, of course, they are always the greatest moment of the game. So, with that, I want to tell you all my favorite boss fights in games. But, the obvious rules. Only one game per franchise and only games that I have played. Also, this list contains MASSIVE Spoilers, so, you have been warned. So, with that, here we go.
#10: Bowser from Super Mario 64 - What better way to start off the list then with the first final boss I have ever fought in a game. Sure, he may not be so well, by todays standards... No, wait, todays standards are just FPS games where the final boss is a ten second button masher. So, in other words, this fight holds up A LOT MORE! Anyway, this fight is very challenging, but very fun, as you throw Bowser into bombs, but, doing this makes the fight get harder, as he shoots quicker fireballs and the platform gets smaller. Still, considering this was on N64, this was on hell of a boss fight. And for a Mario game no less.
#9: Brock from Dead Rising - Now, Brock has to be one of the greatest bosses in Dead Rising. And I already mentioned that in my 29 Dead Rising Psychopaths list. Brock is a military veteran who cares nothing about human life, and believes that killing the zombies, who were once people, as nothing more than a mission. But, we're not here to discuss his personality. We're here to talk about his boss fight. And it is AWESOME! You fight with Brock in hand-to-hand combat, on a tank, in a sea of zombies. Brock has all kinds of dangerous moves, but, by this point in the game, so do you. And, this goes on for quiet a while, as Brock has the most health out of any psychopath in the game. And when you beat him lets just say its very satisfying.
#8: Jack of Blades from Fable - Now, when you think about the reincarnation of an evil masked man who wants to destroy the world and kill you, you'd expect him to be reincarnated as something other than A GIANT FUCKING DRAGON!!! And, oh my god, this fight is amazing. You will use all of your abilities, from Strength, to Skill, and to Will, to kill him. Jack can fly around the stage, breathe fireballs, bite you, and summon Minions to help out, which carry things to help you. And as this goes on, the area around is just burning, showing how dangerous the situation is. It just adds a great end to a great XBox exclusive... until Fable 3 came out, and that game sucked.
#7: Yami from Okami - Now, what is the first thing you think of when the final boss of a game is a giant ball... You'll probably be thinking "Really? That's what all the build up was for"? But, trust me... the fight is incredible. The fight starts with you losing all your abilities.... Okay, just, bear with me. It gets better. As you fight Yami, you get all your abilities back one by one. But, then, Yami transforms into his final form, and he then tries to kill you, which he almost does, but, you then gain a new ability, which then makes you preform such a powerful attack that destroys Yami. This fight just has so much mood to it, that it is what makes the fight amazing. And, its because of this fight, that I can overlook having to fight all the bosses over and over again............... If this was a video, my eye would be twitching.
#6: Henry from No More Heroes - Now, what is more fun then fighting your Irish twin brother in the middle of town with lightsabers..... Okay, maybe it sounds messed up, but what do you expect in a game made by Suda51. This fight is just amazing, as you both keep blocking, dodging, and attacking, as if it was a real sword fight. Also, you should be careful of Henry, as he does have this, albeit, predictable, but devastating one hit kill move. Also, the ending of this fight is just comedy gold. I can't just tell you this, you need to play this fight for yourselves to find out,
#5: Ganon from Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time - Now, after escaping from a collapsing tower, you finally manage to defeat Ganondor- Nope, he just trolls you and comes back to fight you again. But, this time, he transforms into his more monstrous form, known as Ganon. And for N64, this fight is amazing. The lighting of this fight make it more amazing to look at. Not to mention, the music in the fight is unlike anything heard in a Zelda game... well, when it was the 90's at least. And, the whole fight is just amazing. I would say it's like David and Goliath, due to size, but, I have that quote tucked away until a later entry. But, still, this fight is just amazing. And its even more epic looking in the 3DS remake. How can you do that... well, they did make Wind Waker, and already beautiful game, even more beautiful on Wii U.
#4: Final Hazard from Sonic Adventure 2 - Now, I was already giving up on the boss fights by this point. But, once I got to the final boss. Oh... MY... GOD! This fight is just amazing. You fight a giant lizard in space, as he shoots lasers, while you are SUPER SAIYAN HEDGEHOG..... Note to self, never say that again. Anyway, the fight has you going at high speed in order to hit him. Also, the music in the background has to be one o the best songs in Sonic games. I mean HOLY SHIT! THIS IS AMAZING! Thank god for this fight... you know, after the Rouge VS Knuckles fight, Eggman VS Tails fight, and the Biohazard fight which gave me a fucking headache..... Yeah, those fights.
#3: Malus from Shadow of the Colossus - Now, after hunting down fifteen large creatures, you then go and find the final colossus. Here, the atmosphere changes to this dark light, and you make your way towards Malus. But, instead of very powerful music playing, you get this soft and depressing music instead, making you wonder if everything up to this point was the right thing to do. This fight, not only makes you question, but makes you feel, which is what makes it such a great boss fight.
#2: Masked Man from Mother 3 - After playing all the way through this game, you finally reach the last Needle which is needed to be pulled out. However, before you can, you are stopped by the Masked Man, who has been chasing you this entire game. So, you decide to finally fight him, even though, as you fight him, you see that he is stronger then you, making it hard to beat him. But, what makes it worse is that, as you fight him, Porky, the MOTHERFUCKING ASSHOLE HE IS (Ahem), tells you that the Masked Man is your brainwashed brother who now works for Porky. But, after you put memories back into his mind, he then goes ahead and kills himself, while you just sit there, unable to do anything. This fight brings so much emotion to it, making the player feel both satisfied and at the same time, as if he failed.... Then the games ending comes, then its just all failure.
#1: Liquid Ocelot from Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots - Now, this fight is just... awesome. There are lots of words to describe it... So, here I go. As you finally reach the games main villain, you then begin a hand-to-hand fight. Something that has never been done in past Metal Gear Solid games. However, as you fight Liquid, you fight him in three different phases, each different Ocelots from the past Metal Gear Games, making you have a long and amazing fight. Finally, you reach the end of the fight, with slow but beautiful music playing, as you then lay down more punches on Liquid Snake, making you feel every single punch. It makes this fight such an amazing fight. You have so much emotion throughout the fight, and it is just amazing. And, this boss fight lead to what I feel is the greatest ending in video game history... but, that's another list for another time... maybe. It's atmospheric, it's brilliant, it's challenging, it is awesome, and it was the end to not just one of the best villains in video games, but an end to one of the greatest video games of all time... wait, they're still making Metal Gear games... well why didn't anyone tell me this? Oh, you all know what I mean.
So, there is my list. Do you all agree? Tell me below. With that, I will see you all next time
