Hello everyone, and today, I will be talking about another depressing video game list. So, what are some of the most depressing video game endings. Well, lets find out. First, some rules. Only games I have played, only one per franchise, and, I am not including depressing games, so no Metal Gear Solid 4, Mother 3, Heavy Rain, or any of the games from my Top Ten Most Depressing Games List. And one more thing. This list has spoilers EVERYWHERE!!! So, if there is a game you are planning to buy, do not read this list. Trust me, it will ruin it for you. With that, lets start the list.
10: Mass Effect 2 - Now, believe it or not, but there was a time when Mass Effect had actual good endings. Speaking of which. FUCK YOU MASS EFFECT 3! YOU MADE ME GO THROUGH ALL THAT WORTHLESS TIME WASTING BULLSHIT AND GOD AWFUL COVER SYSTEM JUST TO GET AN ENDING LIKE THAT! I HOPE YOU CHOKE ON THOSE 75 DOLLARS YOU PIECE OF SHIT!!!! Anyway, yes, Mass Effect 2 had a pretty depressing ending. As you go through the game, you work hard trying to find members of your team to stop the Reapers. So, when you finally collected, and bonded with them all, you go to fight the Reapers. However, once you are there, you watch as hundreds of the soldiers you collected die right in front of you, with nothing to do. In other words, all of your searching was in vain, only to temporarily stop the Reapers. The reason this is lower is because of........ Well, you know. FUCK YOU, MASS EFFECT 3!!! FUCK YOU!!!!!!!
9: Red Dead Redemption - Now, here is one of the first Rockstar characters who is morally right. John Marston only kills because he only kills so he can see his family again. However, after he is done working for the government, he gets stabbed in the back as soldiers come and kill him. It was surprising to see Uncle die, but not sad, because, you know, lazy. But, once John gets his son and his wife out of there, he is only greeted with getting shot by soldiers and dying. After that, his family comes back to bury him. Again, why is this so low? Well, if you look around, you can get revenge on the guy who killed John. So worth it
8: Mafia 2 - Now, if you guys know anything about the Mafia, its that they are a bunch of criminals that only look after themselves. Its the same in this game. However, you actually do have someone who helps you, named Joe. So, after you kill the former boss and are on your way to the celebration, Joe gets sent to a different location and you are told how his services are no longer needed. In other words, the only guy who you could actual consider a friend in this world is actually going to die. Yeah, a pretty depressing ending in my opinion.
7: Grad Theft Auto 4 - honestly, how much sandbox games are on this list. I promise, this is the last one. Anyway, GTA 4 has what I think is the best cast of characters. Yes, even more then GTA 5. Shut it. Anyway, you are then given two choices. You can go and get revenge on Demitri for putting you through so much shit or you can put those differences aside and make a deal. However, no matter which choice you make, there are consequences. If you choose Deal, Roman, Niko;s cousin, get shot at his wedding. And if you choose Revenge, Kate, Niko's love interest, gets shot. And this is unavoidable, unlike GTA 5. SHUT IT! So, yeah, this is a pretty sad ending
6: Halo: Reach - Now, when you think of a sad ending from a first person shooter game, you all may think of Call of Duty. NO, FUCK THOSE GAMES! THEY SUCK! No, I am looking at Halo. More specifically, Halo: Reach. Now, as you progress through the game, all the members of Nobel Team die. Once you get to the end, you are the last remaining member of Nobel Team and are about to get killed by aliens, but this is what you want. You want to fight off as much aliens as possible and die. Yes, its a forced lose battle, but its better then Call of Duty, because they always give you false hope like "You'll live if you get to the end of the level" Only to get shot in the face or "A helicopter will be here in five minutes" ONLY TO NEVER FUCKING GET THERE!!!! Anyway, yes, you will die in Halo: Reach, but unlike Call of Duty, they make a forced lose battle good
5: Super Paper Mario - Oh, now this is a wonderful game. Sure, people criticize it because it didn't live up to the other Paper Mario games, but I actually loved it. Especially its ending. So, after you go and reach Count Bleck, he then notices your partner, Timpien, and he starts remembering how he met her. Then, he gets betrayed by his henchman, Dimentio, as he begins to destroy the whole universe. Of course, as long as he has the Chaos Heart, he is unstoppable, so, Bleck then knows that the only way to destroy the heart is for two people who love each other to sacrifice themselves. Bleck then remembers who Timpien is, who was supposed to be his wife before she was banished to another dimension. So, once they sacrifice themselves, the heart is destroyed, but of course, they're both dead. God, Nintendo really likes to be depressing sometimes
4: Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater - Now, this isn't MGS 4, its MGS 3, and that didn't have any depressing moments up until the ending. After the AMAZING fight with The Boss, she then tells you of how she did not join sides with Volgin, but only staged her act so she could get inside his base to stop his plans. And after that, she asks Snake to kill her. Of course, he doesn't, but the player does, yes, the player actually has to kill someone who is begging for you to kill them. After that, Snake then goes to visit The Bosses grave, and Snake is the only person who understood her, as the rest of the world shunned her for being a traitor and a terrorist, but Snake was the only one who knew her true actions, which make this pretty sad. Not as sad as MGS 4, but still freaking sad
3: Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening - What, were you all expecting Majora's Mask. That game actually ended on a pretty happy level, considering that most of the game was freaking depressing. Anyway, after Link gets stranded on an island, he meets a girl named Marin, who seems to grow fond of Link. As the game progresses, they begin to form a strong bond. But, once all the Instruments of the Sirens are collected, Link wakes the Wind Fish up, only to be told that the whole island and everyone on it was a dream. After that, Link only gets to meet Marin one last time before she and the whole island disappear. My god, and I thought Majora's Mask was depressing. Nope, not in this case
2: The Walking Dead - Now, I love the Walking Dead, and its game adaption is no exception. You play as Lee, who is to look after a young girl named Clemontine. As you proceed through the game, Celmontine begins to look at Lee as a father figure as he protects her from zombies. But, sadly, in the final act, Lee gets bitten and is on the verge of becoming a zombie. So, at this point, you are left with two choices. You could either have Clemontine kill Lee with a gun, or have Clemontine leave as Lee becomes a zombie. Either way, this choice will leave Clemontine all alone as she is forced to survive the zombie apocalypse on her own. Even if she did become a badass kid in the next game, but that still doesn't change the fact that this is a sad ending
1: Professor Layton and the Unwound Future - Now, this whole game is pretty depressing now that I look at it. Lots of people die because some guy wanted to become rich, only to end up becoming the mayor of London, a scientists lives work is ruined in the explosion, and the main villain only wants revenge on the guy for causing his parents death. Yeah, a pretty sad game. But the biggest kicker is its ending. So, we get some history of how Layton met Claire, his love interest. They really cared for each other, as its shown. Claire even gave Layton his trademark top hat. But, let me remind you that this is not a happy ending. So, Claire gets sent to the future and once Layton goes into the future, he is finally able to find her, but he has to get her out before she ceases to exist, so, they try to get through. And, once they get to the end, it is already too late. Now, throughout the whole game, Layton was the only one who used logic in the game. All the other characters believed that Claire was still alive, but Layton was the only one who accepted her death, but once she actual begins to become non-existing, Layton ignores all logic and says how he can't live without her. Thats right, Layton, a man who has believed in logic his whole life is willing to give it all up for Claire. Yes, this is sad, and sadly, she still ends up disappearing forever, and this leaves Layton as an emotional wreck. God, and this is what we got for a DS game. Oh god............
And there it is, is there any endings that you would have wanted me to see. You can tell me... or not.... An with that, I will see you guys next time.

Now, there is a lot a fanfic can do in at least a minute. But a one minute fanfic can leave you with a "That sucked" emotion. However, one fanfic actually knows how to be short and scary. That creepypasta is What You Don't See.
Now, this story is about where it tells the reader what happens to the face of people when your not looking. It is said that while your back is turned, the people you really know are just monsters who are hiding their true faces. And, that is it. A one minute creepypasta. However, this left lots of people paranoid, including myself. This creepypasta really has a big effect on people who read it, even if it is just one minute.
Sorry, but the story is so short, that there really isn't much to say left. So, if you want a good short creepypasta, then read What You Don't See But, hey, that's only my opinion. What's You Take
