'The X-Files' Revival: Robbie Amell Had A Scene With William B. Davis' Cigarette Smoking Man

"The X-Files" newcomer Robbie Amell revealed that he filmed a scene with William B. Davis in the upcoming revival of the hit sci-fi series.

The 27-year-old Canadian actor disclosed the detail during his Salt Lake Comic Con panel on Saturday, Sept. 26, when a fan asked him if Davis\' Cigarette Smoking Man is returning for the revival.

"I don\'t know what\'s a secret, so I could get into a lot of trouble with this question," joked Amell, who plays Agent Miller on the six-episode follow-up series. "I had a scene with Cigarette Smoking Man, so he is in it. I hope that doesn\'t get me in a huge [trouble]."

Davis\' return to the series isn\'t a secret. The 77-year-old actor confirmed that he\'s reprising his role as Cigarette Smoking Man during an interview with Den of Geek this past May.

"I\'m definitely in some of the episodes," he told the website. "And I\'m definitely in the first episode, but [series creator Chris Carter] is keeping very secret as to exactly what way I\'m in the first episode."

News that Cigarette Smoking Man is coming back to the series came as a surprise to a lot of fans, because the character appeared to be killed by a helicopter rocket in the 2002 finale of the show\'s original run. However, some fans were expecting his return as Carter once said that "no one really dies on \'X-Files.\'"

While there are some actors who choose to leave their iconic roles in the past in favor of playing new characters, Davis told of Den of Geek that coming back to "The X-Files" was an easy decision for him.

"As an actor it\'s good for me, it\'s good for my career and it\'s stimulating," Davis said. "I had no hesitation, I would have been quite disappointed it the show had been done without me and I think a lot of fans would have been disappointed as well."
