fans may be outraged by the cruel Negan cliffhanger, but aside from who the Saviors\' leader killed, one thing viewers can look forward to next season is the inevitable introduction of Ezekiel and his pet tiger Shiva.

The comics\' Instagram appeared to confirm as much - even if it wasn\'t supposed to (oops). In a later-edited caption of a picture showing Ezekiel and Shiva from the comics, the account teased: "Don\'t worry #WalkingDead show fans. You\'ll get to meet Ezekiel and Shiva next season."

But who is this Ezekiel who everyone\'s talking about? Here\'s the quick rundown...

We might meet Ezekiel sooner than you think

Ezekiel, introduced in Issue 108 in the comics and not too long after Negan\'s brutal introduction, is the leader of a community called The Kingdom.

The Kingdom is based at a high school, and the soldiers there wear combat armour and ride horses.

In fact, the TV series has already encountered survivors from The Kingdom. In the season six finale, after Morgan saves Carol from being gunned down by a Savior, he is approached by two men with a horse and accepts their help for medical attention.

It looks like we\'ll be seeing The Kingdom in its TV glory pretty soon after

Yep, his followers call him \'King Ezekiel\'. But honestly, he couldn\'t be more different from Hilltop\'s leader Gregory. Friendly and charismatic, the former zookeeper welcomes the idea of working with Rick\'s group.

Ezekiel despises Negan as much as Rick does, and has no qualms about helping the Alexandria boss take down the Saviors.

Shiva is Ezekiel\'s beloved Bengal tiger and is awesome. Although she\'s not fond of violence, she can definitely hold her own - proving to be more than a valuable soldier against the Saviors and walkers.

She\'s also extremely loyal to Ezekiel, and even saves his life in one particularly devastating storyline…

Ezekiel is the brains behind Rick\'s plan to take down Negan

He\'s a major player in the war, and is the one who suggests that Rick should take over Negan\'s outposts first and bit by bit lower the Saviors\' numbers. Because as we saw in the season six finale, Negan has a LOT of Saviors and plenty of resources at hand.

But Ezekiel is soon on the frontlines, leading the combined forces of Alexandria, Hilltop and The Kingdom against the Saviors at their base - known as The Sanctuary.

In the comics, Ezekiel has an eventful romantic relationship with Michonne. We\'re not sure if the TV series would also go in this direction, given that Michonne (replacing Andrea in the comics) has hooked up with Rick.

Ezekiel\'s also good buddies with Jesus. In fact, in the comics Jesus is the one who introduces Rick to The Kingdom.
