I remember visiting this website once...
It was called ‘The 100’ Recap: Season 4 Finale — Clarke’s Sacrifice, Season 5 Spoilers | TVLine
Here's some stuff I remembered seeing:
If you just finished watching Wednesday’s season finale of
, you’re probably asking yourself three questions: Who’s that girl? What’s that ship? And what’s coming next? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered.
The 100‘s Lindsey Morgan Recalls Raven’s Most ‘Badass’ Season 4 Moment
But before we dive into our chat with executive producer Jason Rothenberg, a quick recap of the episode’s big events:
* Following a few heart-to-heart talks, first with Bellamy (over the radio) and then with Indra, Octavia finally steps up as the commander — small C this time! — of her people.
* In order to get her friends into space, Clarke sacrifices herself, remaining on the ground to power the satellite Raven needs to gain entry to the Ark.
* A time jump (six years and seven days, to be exact) reveals that Clarke is alive and well on the ground — and with a sweet new haircut! She and her young companion (more on that later) are still hopeful that they’ll someday make contact with Bellamy and the gang, but instead, they’re visited by a sinister-looking ship in the episode’s final moments.
* As for everyone in the bunker, their collective status is kind of a question mark, though Clarke’s report isn’t super hopeful.
there weren’t any confirmed deaths this week, especially considering how many casualties there have been this season. Was there talk of killing anyone else off?
Actually, no. I thought the most important thing to see in the finale was these characters working together as a team. Clarke’s choice to sacrifice herself, to me, was a very different type of choice for her. In the past, we’ve forced her to make these really awful choices where there’s no good choice. In this case, it’s self-sacrificial. She’s willing to die in that moment as she’s climbing the tower. She says, “My fight is over,” not knowing that her Nightblood is going to save her. To see her willing to sacrifice herself so her friends could go to space was, for me, really important. It was also important for me to see these characters — particularly Bellamy — to have to make decisions without her.
TVLINE | I’m also glad, if a little surprised, that they made it back to the Ark.
One of my favorite scenes in the whole episode was the little scene between Bellamy and Raven at the very end. They’re looking out and Bellamy says, “If we don’t make it, she died for nothing.” And he’s not going to let that happen. To me, that encapsulates everything this character has learned, and the change Clarke has forced in him just by the choices she made in this episode.
TVLINE | My initial thought when I saw the little girl with Clarke was “She’s
daughter, but what we’ll see in Season 5 is that this relationship is hugely important for Clarke. She’s a Nightblood named Maddie, and she’s been with her for five years. They are, for all intents and purposes, bonded the way a mother and daughter would be. So Clarke loves her, and her decision-making process has changed, just as it does for anyone who has a child. … We’ll tell the story of how they came together in Season 5, and how they’ve been surviving as the only two people on the planet — until that ship shows up.
TVLINE | Yeah, about that spaceship… Should we just assume it’s
We will definitely tell their story. Some of them will probably be angry. All of them will be home, alive and back on Earth. I think, in some really cool ways, it’s a rebooting of the entire story. The 100 were prisoners when they came to the ground, and they thought they were alone, but they weren’t. There were Grounders in this world, which we learned when a spear came out of the woods and impaled Jasper’s chest. Now
is the Grounder, and these prisoners are the 100. We screw with people’s perspectives. Of course, the prisoners are going to
as antagonists, but we’ll probably dimensionalize them as we do with all of our bad guys.
TVLINE | Lastly, I have to know about Monty’s hands. Will they be OK?
] They got pretty screwed up, obviously, but he’s going to be fine — long-term, I imagine. But he was willing to sacrifice himself also in order to save his friends, which is important to note. It’s funny, that moment where he loses his glove was all ad-libbed. [Christopher Larkin] really
lose his other glove. He was just so in that moment, as was Richard [Harmon], and they just went with it. Happy accidents like that are the best.

That was really stressful and I need a drink. I’m surprised how little of the bunker’s side we saw. I expected Jaha to die. And I’m surprised we jumped THAT far ahead into the future, but it’s good because I couldn’t believe they were teenagers or whatever anymore. I imagine some Lost-esque flashbacks in season 5. Super feels-y episode though! And great interview! I’m glad he explained who the girl is a bit.
I know, right? This show will legit kill anyone at any time so I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. I’m so glad no one died, and I agree it wouldn’t have felt right in this episode, which was all about coming together and surviving in the face of overwhelming odds. And now it’s going to be such a long wait to find out what the deal with that ship is, and how everyone else has changed after six years. A “lost” Mars colony that everyone assumed failed without support from Earth after ALIE torched the planet? I assume if it was a moon colony or another space station, it would be impossible for the Ark not to have known about them. Something else to think about: neither of the two Grounder girls on the Ark had IUDs, and it’s unrealistic to think no funny business was happening up there for six years, so I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s at least one more person who will be coming down than went up. I wonder if Bellamy/Raven or Bellamy/Echo will be a thing . . . the latter would be really interesting from a storytelling standpoint, considering all that history between them, ha. Also I am going to need the writers to supply a plausible explanation for why the area around Polis wasn’t torched clean of all life like Clarke thinks the rest of the planet is. Okay, that’s it, can’t wait!
Incredible season. Amazing finale. The wait for S5 will be hard.
That ending was awesome. So glad Clarke was not a lone for over 5 years. A new generation of night bloods. I thought there were other survivors, like children.
There should be others alive because Clarke told the girl (night blood) to wake/get the others. I think Clarke became a bad ass warrior; she looks like she knows how to fight.
yes she did tell her that. I have to say, next to season 2 that was the best finale.
I think you are right. She has been doing her own night blood training, or Indra’s daughter got out of the bunker. Gai did not look happy about Indra making Octavia the commander, without the flame.
Wow. Not expecting that end. My ? Will we see everyone else.
Needed more Abby and Kane, because, believe it or not, not everyone watches this show for the youngsters.
I think Bellamy and Clarke should be a couple I’ve been waiting for that since I started this show lol
I was expecting a 5 year time jump, so the extra year was a surprise.
Can’t believe there was no Kane in the finale. Or Abby.
So many questions. I hope next season we still see our regulars and it’s not just the new people.
i have mixed feelings about this. i loved seeing everything happen in that lab and leading up to them finding the ark. but i was hoping for a little more screentime for the bunker people as well. how does abby feel about kane knocing her out? how did she react when she realized she couldn’t talk to her daughter? i wanted to know about the ark, and they could’ve taken some screentime away from the disastrous long climb clarke did, and that almost-suicide echo did.
i’m curious where these prisoners come from, are they that long lost 13th spacestation that was talked about in the first season? the one that never joined the other 12 spacestations that created the ark? if so, it would explain why they never joined them. curious to see what sort of characters we’ll meet.
i have to say; in the flashforward when clarke told the radio/bellamy that “we tried to dig them out” i was hoping for some massive surprise reappearance, maybe roan, whom i STILL do not fully believe is dead. ridiculous by now, i know, but his death was so anticlimactic i’ve been expecting him to show up these past few episodes. not quite sure how i feel about this girl, but we’ll give it a try.
excited to see what the ark an dbunker people will be like. how much they’ve changed, what sort of new relationships might’ve occured.
The 13th was Beccas station,it was destroyed by the 12 and she fled to Earth. These are prisoner miners, they had an Easter egg mention this season.
Agree about the Echo almost-suicide being a waste of time. I was hoping she’d die this entire season.
I’m also rather annoyed we didn’t get to see Abby’s reaction or the rest of Skaikru.
I love how the last part of Clarke’s story was basically the end of Rogue One. Connecting to the comm tower, manually resetting the misaligned dish, the wall of fire… I hope it was intentional. If it was, it was a pretty cool homage.
I cried watching the finale. I can’t tell you how much I’ve fallen in love with certain characters, Including but not limited to Clark Griffin, Lexa(even though she is deceased), Octavia, Lincoln(even though he is deceased), Bellamy, Finn(even though he is deceased), and most importantly the story line, for which I have no words. I feel like I’km actually living in this show it is written so well. I can’t wait to see what the writers have in store for season 5! It’s been a long journey and I’ve been with this show since the start and I can’t wait to follow it through until the end. Thank you to all who have worked on this magnificent Sci-fi thriller. It is to this day the only Sci-fi show I can actually stand to watch. SO thank you to you amazing, creative people who keep finding ways to keep us on our toes with these twists and turns we never see coming!
Loved the ending just like season 1 ending where it really sets up for something big and keeps you guessing what’s next and wanting more. Can’t wait to see this flash forward this really can give us more seasons now that it’s been push into the future
So first the episode was nuts! I thought so many different things were going to happen like Clarke and Monty actually dying! I had so much anxiety. But I completely loved the points that were made in this episode and im eager to see how these changes in character are going to effect the outcome of season 5. Matter fact if you’re looking to add new characters definitely sign me up, id love to be apart. That would literally make my year!
This series always keeps me on edge sometimes thinking wtf so many twists so many surprises so many of everything u look for in a tv show other than my typical enjoyment of arrow, flash, supergirl, legends of tomorrow and supernatural this show has made me stay up late and look fwd to watching cause it’s just so intense I can’t wait for season 5 it’s gonna be epic…
Great end to the season. What’s the meaning behind the 7 days part of the timeline?
Anyone notice how Clarke was truly happy at the end?
I fear that the Arks crew are now prisoners too. The ships technology looked far more advanced then the Sky crews.
I’m losing my goddamn mind. I loved the finale, and I hated it at the same time but that’s only because I’m absolutely gutted it was the last episode until…when? I don’t even know. When Bellamy said, “if we don’t she dies in vain.” My initial thought was, “No. They can NOT kill Clarke. She’s been through too damn much, and I will hunt you down ”
I am curious as to where the Nightblood girl came from. She’d have to be young when Clarke found her, considering Praimfaya lasted 5 years and as they seem to have a very mother-daughter relationship. I CANNOT wait to see how that relationship progresses and what happens when Bellamy sees her and how he interacts with her (because, if we’re being honest, he’ll be so great with her.) I bet those fools with the Prisoner wagon is pull a Pike and Octavia with her newly formed Grounder army is going to have to beat them all up.
The whole episode (like so many before it) had been literally shouting at my laptop.
Heda Oktavia kom Wonkru. Long sonraun Heda.
I’m the sort of person who doesn’t get bored very often, as long as I have the Internet. A few years ago, I was bored and sat down to watch TV. What do you know, The 100 Season 1 Episode 1 was just starting, and I have been hooked since that day. I love how Octavia has grown from the girl under the floor to the savior of humanity (And a freaking badass grounder warrior), and how Clarke has become a leader. I love everything about this show.
I have just one problem with this season. WHY IS IT OVER!!! I need more. I watched it 20mins ago and I am already having withdrawals.
Really though, great job CW. Along with your arrowverse shows, you still find time to create amazing shows like this. Keep up the good work.
On the off chance that someone reading this has never watched the 100, watch it now. You will not regret it.
