The 100: Season 3 finale airs Thursday night and expect it to be another huge episode for the show. Going into the finale, the AI known as ALIE seems unstoppable, as every attempt to stop her has failed. I spoke to Eliza Taylor about what Clarke will do next and more on the finale and recent episodes, as Clarke finally reunited with her old friends.
Spoiler Warning: While there are plenty of secrets still protects, this interview discusses some plot points of the finale – including a notable guest star – previously revealed in trailers, photos and by The 100’s cast and crew.
IGN: Not that The 100 is a stranger to dark events, but we left off with things in a very dark place last week. So what is Clarke’s next move given that Ontari seemed to be the last hope and there’s trouble coming at them from everywhere?
Eliza Taylor: There really is trouble coming from literally everywhere. Ontari was their last hope but as you saw in that last episode, she is now brain dead. So we’re in trouble. But I’m really excited for people to see the finale. I’ve been saying that for a long time now. Since we shot it, I just feel like it’s one of the best episodes. I haven’t seen it myself yet but it’s very interesting and complicated and I think fans are going to be happy. Yes. there is trouble coming from every which way but hopefully Clarke’s got this.

IGN: The preview does show that you’ve taken the chip and are going into the City of Light. What might that experience be like for Clarke?
Taylor: Trying not to spoil things! [Laughs] I can tell you that for Eliza it was very interesting because I had not been a part of this whole chipping thing for the whole season, so I was like “oh this is how it work!.”
IGN: Also was it different for you just on a production level? You guys film in sound stages and outside in the woods. What was it like filming in the city?
Taylor: It was great. I had no idea, going into shooting downtown for three days or whatever it was, how quickly people would catch on to the fact that me and Alycia [Debnam-Carey] were shooting intimate scenes in the city center. Within an hour we had fans -- like twenty to thirty fans -- with banners and signs and flags and pictures to sign, waiting for us and staying out in the freezing cold wanting to talk to us, for hours and hours and hours. I was just so… I finally kind of got the message that “Oh! We’re kind of a popular show.” I didn’t know until then. It was really cool to shoot downtown and then actually communicate with fans of the show.
IGN: That was a nice nice segue there, thank you, since you mentioned Alycia! We know she is in the finale in some capacity. What can you say about her appearance?
Taylor: I’m sure people can gather how she’s in the finale but I really do not want to spoil that one to any extent. What I’m very happy about is how important that is for other people and fans to see the two of us together again. It’s going to be a pretty unexpected way.
The 100 Cast Choose the Best Faction: Arkers, Grounders or Mount Weather?
IGN: As you said, you weren’t a part of the City of Light storyline and for a lot of the season you were in Polis away from a lot of the cast. What was it like for you to reunite with some people you haven’t worked with in a long time in those last few episodes?
Taylor: It’s been so great. And I love how much of a callback it is to Season 1 seeing this group of kids together again. Actually they’re not kids anymore. They’ve grown up so much and for me personally, it was so lovely to actually reconnect with Marie and Bob and Lindsey and Chris and Devon and everyone. I got to see how their lives were going because I’d been so segregated, doing my own thing in Polis for so long, we just hadn’t really hung out. It was so great to have the gang back together. It felt like Season 1 again and felt fresh again. It was kind of cool that we spent so much time apart because when we came back together we were excited to work with each other again and I think that comes through when you see them driving off in the rover on their next mission. You’re like “Oh, yes! They’re back together and it’s going to be great!”
IGN: And then of course, terrible things happen.
Taylor: Of course. [Laughs] That’s our M.O on this show.
Continue on as Taylor discusses the show\'s early renewal, the two possible endings for Season 3 and more.
