Ghibli Museum Will Reopen with Miyazaki-Curated Retrospective, Giant Catbus
The Ghibli Museum in Tokyo is preparing for its reopening in July with brand-new exhibits and attractions, including a retrospective on animation curated by Miyazaki himself and a Catbus large enough for adults to climb inside.
Miyazaki\'s exhibit isn\'t strictly limited to Ghibli works and includes
. The "Neko Bus ni Notte Ghibli no Mori e" (Ride the Catbus to Ghibli Forest) and the museum itself will open on July 16.
Tickets will be offered by lottery for the summer break period of July through August. The reopening will also include a new ticket policy. Visitors wll be asked for identification before entry. Visitors whose name does not match the name used to purchase the ticket will be turned away. The move is intended to discourage scalpers who purchase tickets and resell them at a higher price.
The Ghibli Museum, located in Mitaka in west Tokyo, is dedicated to bringing the works of
to life through interactive exhibits and replicas of iconic Ghibli creations like the Catbus from
. Additionally, exhibits on works that have influenced Miyazaki are also common. Prior to the museum closing, it hosted an exhibit based on Edogawa Ranpo\'s novel
. Tickets to the museum must be purchased in advance, and the museum only makes a select number of tickets available for each day.

This cute Taisho-set romance blends historical social expectations with a sweet romance devoid of creepy shoujo tropes. ― Despite a title that sounds like a Barbara Cartland novel, The Heiress and the Chauffeur\'s first volume is a cute Taisho-set tale of fairly basic shoujo proportions.
