It was called Oscar Isaac Offers Phone Number to Anyone with ‘Star Wars’ Questions | Variety
Here's some stuff I remembered seeing:
Though Oscar Isaac won the Golden Globe award for best actor in a limited series or motion picture made for television for HBO’s “Show Me A Hero,” many of the questions backstage following his win focused on another of his projects, “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.” Asked when it would be okay to discuss spoilers for the film, Isaac said, “Isn’t it time now? Look, I’m here, I’ll put my number out there if anyone has any questions.”
Isaac reflected on his “incredible” year, which includes a role in “Ex Machina,” which has been doing well in the awards race, despite coming out earlier in 2015. “The people found ‘Ex Machina,\'” he said. “I’m very moved by that.” He went on to say, “It’s incredible, it’s hard to fathom this year. I’m very blessed and humbled by everything that’s happening.”
Isaac portrayed Yonkers mayor Nick Wasicsko in “Show Me a Hero,” and Isaac says that when he was approached about “a six-hour miniseries about housing segregation and municipal law, I had to take a moment to think about it.” But once he saw video of Nick and spoke to his widow, Nay Noe, he said, “My heart broke for them. I wanted to tell their story and really try to understand this difficult time that wasn’t so long ago.”
Isaac, who is from Guatamala but has played many different ethnicities on screen, also spoke about diversity in Hollywood, noting that “the guy from ‘Star Wars’ is definitely not Latino. He’s from a galaxy far, far away.” He added, “It’s difficult for people who look like not the status quo in this country to get great roles. I feel humbled and honored and blessed to have been able to do that. Hopefully that will happen more.”
Asked about his plans for later in the evening, Isaac responded, “I have no plans. I couldn’t even plan anything. I’ve planned as far as doing this and walking back to my seat. This whole year has been something no one could have ever planned.”
