The first season of MTV’s ‘Scream’ ended with a bang — literally — on Sept. 1. Not only was there a gruesome death within the first five minutes, but the killer’s identity was finally revealed. Plus, a party at Brooke’s house ended with a horrifying bloodbath.
, Emma (Willa Fitzgerald) finally came face to face with not only her half sibling, but the killer who murdered half of her friends. And in a bid to save her mother’s life, Emma went toe-to-toe with this killer, which left one person brutally stabbed and another dead.
Before we get to the bloody ending, we have to rehash what happened beforehand. While at the Halloween dance, the killer called Emma and told her that in order to save the sheriff (Jason Wiles) she’d have to figure out a puzzle. So she met her mom (Tracy Middendorf) at the police station, where she’s photographing a crime scene. Emma then remembered that the killer leaves clues on dead bodies, so before paramedics rolled the cop’s dead body away, Maggie reached into his mouth and pulled out the Daisy necklace Brandon had given her when they were teenagers. She said he often left gifts for her in a certain tree, so they raced there only to find the sheriff tied to the tree. As Maggie rushed to untie him, she didn’t realize his stomach was torn to pieces and the straps were keeping his intestines intact. Once the straps were cut, his intestines fell out, which might have been the goriest death scene we’ve ever seen. (Gross!)
Brooke (Carlson Young), who is still having a hard time dealing with Branson (Bobby Campo) and her dad’s arrests, as well as her mom’s stint in rehab, decided it was best to throw a massive party. Unfortunately, Audrey (Bex Taylor-Klaus) and Jake were the only ones who showed up. Later, a random partygoer stumbled upon a dead body in the bathroom of Brooke’s pool house, and everyone panicked. Audrey ran to find out why everyone was screaming and leaving, but when she saw the dead body, the killer shoved her up against a wall. And that’s when Audrey asked the killer, “what are you waiting for?” Brooke then came outside after fetching bottles of wine from the basement, and started freaking out once she realized everyone left. She ran inside and locked the doors, but Branson then mysteriously appeared in her backyard. He begged her to let him in, but she refused. The lights eventually went out, and after a few seconds, the killer’s face appeared outside her door. Was it Brandon or someone else? At this point, we weren’t sure, but the killer eventually got inside and chased Brooke into the garage, where she was trapped inside a freezer and stabbed multiple times.
Once Noah (John Karna) and Emma realized the killer blocked their calls and text messages, they raced to Brooke’s house to make sure their friends were okay. As soon as they arrived, they found blood and Kieran (Amadeus Serafini), who always seems to be where trouble is brewing. They suspected he might be responsible for the latest murders, but he eventually handed over his gun to Emma to prove he’s innocent. They also had to break the news to Kieran that his dad was murdered, so that was a bit awkward. Anyway, once inside the house, they found Brooke set her free. Jake (Tom Maden), who was already at the house because of the party, stayed with Brooke, while the others searched the rest of the house. They eventually stumbled upon an injured Audrey, but when Emma walked inside the house by herself, she got a call from the killer, who told her that in order to save her mom, she’d have to go — alone — to the dock where Brandon James died.
‘Scream’ Killer Answers Burning Questions & Teases Season 2 Return
At the dock, Emma found her mom tied to a chair. Once Maggie was halfway untied, Emma turned around to find the killer waiting for her. And that’s when the killer removed the mask and Piper (Amelia Rose Blaire) showed her face! Yes, Piper was the killer all along, and she also confessed to being Brandon and Maggie’s child. She then told Emma how she was going to kill her and her mom, while framing Branson for the murders. Emma did get stabbed, but before Piper could finish her off, Audrey shot her and saved the day. She said she saw Emma running through the woods, so she followed her to the dock. Piper eventually popped up for another scare, but then Emma shot her again and she fell into the lake. But just when we thought all was good in the world again, we saw Audrey go home, open a box of letters from Piper, and then she burned them. Apparently, they had some sort of connection, which makes us believe Audrey’s the second killer. After all, if Piper Shaw was the killer, as she admitted, then who attacked her and Will in that abandoned building? Who was wearing the mask that night?

ended? Were you totally shocked when the killer revealed her identity? Vote in our poll and tell us how you feel!
