Possibly...um...well...he's not one of the MOST main characters, like Roy, or Bada and Bing, so I guess they didn't include him. Or maybe the creators just forgot he lived in the zoo now, and left him out. I dunno, really, but I didn't notice he wasn't there until you pointed out.

Hmmm my guess is on holiday, at the vet or in a deep sleep of some kind. :P
