Penguins of Madagascar Question

About the new Kung-Fu Panda show... Does anyone think they're kinda ripping off of PoM? I mean, a team of Martial arts fighters, spun off of a movie... I'm just afraid they're trying to use it to push PoM out of the way so they can end the series...

Don't get me wrong, I love that movie. But it's gonna be a problem if it interferes with PoM. >:(

I know, I don't want that show to be on all the time without any PoM though. Thats usually what happens with new shows.

Nope, not a bit. The Madagascar movies and the Kung-Fu Panda movies were completely different, it's just a coincidence that they both have the whole fighting mojo thing going. The only thing that's really the same is that they're both from Dreamworks, and they're both spinoffs. Honestly, I'm really looking forward to Kung-Fu Panda: Legend of Awesome (think that's the name), and I'm surprised more people here aren't. After all, didn't the last Dreamworks movie to become a tv show become the majority of the fans here's tv obsession and favorite show ever? I know it's mine. XD

About KFP pushing PoM off of Nick, well, we know now that PoM's ending anyway, so why not be happy about another potentially awesome show airing once it's gone? Besides, if not KFP, there'd be something else instead. I say we should just enjoy the time we have left with PoM, but not be so obsessed with it that we can't see another good show when it comes around.

I agree. And while I'm not looking foward to KFP, I know I'll be a big fan of the Last Airbender: Legend of Korra. ^^ (off topic, I know, but I'm just hoping I won't hate every new show Nick has even after PoM ends-not that that's the case now. xD)

Agreed... but KFP is going to be HUGE. I didn't watch the first epi yet, but they have FOUR MORE KFP Films in the works. Six total, AND a TV series? 0:

Kung Fu Panda and Madagascar were two different movies created in Dreamworks; there was no ripping off involved. I do not see either series really being too much alike. Just because they are both spin offs of movies hardly mean anything, either.

And I am not worrying too much about Kung Fu Panda's new series becoming some kind of competition for the Penguins. I tried to watch the preview of Kung Fu Panda: Legend of Awesomeness. I didn't like it so much, but that's not going to stop it from coming. The Penguins is going to end soon, so adding in a new show in soon won't really change anything or make things worsen for us.

I remember seeing the PoM pilot in 2008. It was a good pilot. But I haven't seen the Legands of Awesomeness pilot; I can't say it's better or worse for sure. But I'll take your word for it.

Well, it wasn't TERRIBLY bad, but I'm certainly not excited to see it again. I guess because I wasn't a big fan of the movies, either. :P

^agreed. but I sure will never feel the same again if i am forced to endure a world without PoM.

I understand that you are concerned about if PoM will continue.

I remember seeing somewhere that Dreamworks doesn't want to have too many shows. Still, they are making more shows. They might be trying out different shows to see which one the viewers like best or something.

If my theory is correct, Dreamworks might've not been the smartest with a TV show that was #1 on Nick in October 2009.

I haven't seen the Legands of Awesomeness pilot. But I don't think it'll be as good as PoM as a guess. We'll have to see the pilot and compare them.

Oigo que hay muchos fanáticos de PoM en Brasil. Nick no es muy listo con PoM. I hear that there are many PoM fans in Brasil. Nick isn't very smart with PoM.

...I actually do see where your going at with this. It's not like I disagree with any of the other comments either, though. Like everyone said, they both have their kung fu involved AND their both from Dreamworks, how ever I do think, since the show is endding in a 1 and a half year tops, I've wondered if they were trying to bring us off of POM slowly, then add us on to KFP. Yet, I do have to say, in word for the pom showing drought, they are slowing down the flow of new episodes to make the show last longer. I mean, everyone atleast by now, should know that they recorded their last episode in the booth, so thats why I think the flow of eps is coming to a halt. Atleast from it's previous flow. But like Angel said, theres no need to worry! =) We still have a year or so! Plus, I am right on there will be another POM movie? I heard it going around and wanted to make sure I'm hearing it right. Not Mad 3, I already know about that one. =)

Yeah, I kinda said it wrong. I meant that I was hoping it's not meant to be PoM's replacement, meaning that we will see less and less of PoM befrore it even ends.

There's still hope. Dreamworks said they don't want too many shows. They'll use whichever show is better. If Kung-Fu Panda gets cancelled, they'll have to fall back on PoM in order to maintain the Nick/Dreamworks relationship.

^If they want to keep it. A TV series for HTTYD is due on Cartoon Network next year, sooo.... :P

You might have a point, Mixnaster. Kids programs tend to do that - it's going with iCarly and Victorious right now! So, I think its plausible, but don't get depressed!

They're both only associated through the fact the people both work for Dreamworks. But otherwise, no, they're made by different people. I have no idea who actually works for KPF, but I'm absolutely certins they're different people.

Yes, yes, and yes.. in that order. XD

But I don't think it's unusual; it was a good movie, so the creators thought "Omgwtfbbq this would be a super awesome show." XD Which is what they did with PoM, basically.
