Penguins of Madagascar Question

Can anyone compare Private's behaviour in "A Visit from Uncle Nigel" with Spongebob's?

Private seemed to act a bit more childish and kinda a bit too nieve of the real world. I seem to make a connection with Spongebob about his behaviour in that episode. I could say this as a former Spongebob fan (I grew out of it last Summer).

Also, could you tell me if you'd prefer Private to act a bit more down to earth like before he got his lunacorn. I mean, personally, I think it's creative that the people gave Private the lunacorn, but they shouldn't overdo it.

They're both hopelessly nice? Yeah, that's all I can think of because when it comes down to it, Private's still kick-butt awesome and Spongebob's, well, just a goofy-goober (ROCK!!!).

Spongebob is just completely thoughtless and crazy, whereas Private may be, well, a better nice guy who has more legit emotions. Plus, Spongebob cries way too much.

Private's behavior seemed a bit more childish than usual, but a comparison to SpongeBob never struck me when watching the episode. If I think about it, I can see where you are coming from about SpongeBob, though I think any connection was likely coincidental.

As for Private's behavior overall, I do think that his fascination with Lunacorns is being a little overdone on the show in general and that another "tougher" episode role, such as that in "Mort Unbound," would be good to see him in again.
