Uh... Not sure what the other fans might do with them, but I just use mine to put in drawings with the penguins, so I can be in it. And I also use her for PoM rps.

And please, make one! I'd love to see it! But it would be great if you could post it here: link

OCs are Own Characters. You probably knew that already.

People usually make OCs for characters in fan fictions and such. People also use it for Roleplaying(RP) and, well, another version of them. X3

So yeah, usually people make OCs as them in...like Penguin version X3

Right now, I have a penguin version. Ta-da! :>

Well, you can use them as your icon, your person, in fansics and fanarts, or just leave them as unnamed and unknown characters. I use my OC as my icon and character, but my second OC (which I do not use and is in the picture below) is from Rio and not PoM.

It's better to use one OC in chats and everything, it renders less confusion.

While I've read and have been entertained by stories containing original characters (OCs) in the past, I rarely use them in my own writing. For me personally, I try to avoid my writing conflicting with canon, so my five OCs only exist in two of my current 13 stories and only in ways which do not go against the established background of the show thus far.

In case you're curious, the OCs I have created are two Magellanic Penguins, a hawk, and two otters (who I cast as Marlene's parents). As I am not much of a visual artist, I have never attempted to draw any of them, though I've pictured them all in my head to a degree. Back when I was eight or so I also created a snail character, and him I did draw, but I have not done much with him in quite some time.

I usually wonder about the characters' past and their upbringing, so I usually end with their parents. Let me tell you: I LOVE giving characters parents! Parents are the most confusing thing in someones life, whether you like them or not, whether they're alive or not, everybody has or had parents! I always wonder what had made these guys so crazy and the way one's raised usualy brings the answer.

Use them as a profile picture, it can be a cartoon version of yourself & may represent your personality. It allows you to show others what you might see in yourself or what interests you have.
It basically helps to sell yourself, because the OC was created by you & isn't some random picture from Google.

Im rambling now... *walks off*

Well, a lot of us put them in fan fictions. There's whole website for fan fic and I'm part of that too.

Having ocs is fun. I have a lot of them.
