This is interesting. I had heard about "Penguin Awareness Day" (January 20) before, but this new penguin holiday I've just learned of in recent days.
It would seem, however, that the former is the more major of these two penguin "holidays." A quoted-term search for "Penguin Awareness Day" on Google turns up 51,700 results, while one for "International Penguin Day" results in a mere 347.
Regardless, it's great to have now TWO days on which to celebrate penguins, whether they be of the "Madagascar" verity or other.
