Well, if memory serves correctly, the first time was the end of "Sandcastles in the Sand" and the second was not until "The Leap." The first was more spontaneous, and afterwards, Barney spent the entire fourth season in love with Robin. Then in the season four finale, they realized they both had feelings for each other and kissed again, then decided to work out their issues later.
