As we reported yesterday, One Direction stars Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson spent part of the day signing copies of the band’s book, Who We Are, and as ever, their attendance at the event caused fans who were lucky enough to be there to go into meltdown…

However, one fan in particular was overwhelmed at being in such close proximity to her idols, and specifically to Harry.

But as she waited with other Directioners to catch a glimpse of the band – the fans were behind barriers that had been set up to stop them surging forward – she hyperventilated and began having a panic attack.

As Harry left the book signing, he spotted the commotion around the girl – paramedics had been called in the meantime – and insisted on going over to her to calm her down…

In so doing, he risked his own safety by breaking security procedures and protocol – and his actions were against the advice of his security team – to remove the barrier so that he could comfort the sobbing fan.

As you can see in a video below, while being calm and serene, Harry held the girl tightly as she wept and told her to take deep breaths.

@1DUpdatesOnline on Twitter reports, “A fan had a panic attack today and Harry pushed pass a barrier, comforted her, and hugged her for 3 minutes until she had calmed down.”

The fan update account added, “After Harry helped calm down the fan today he shook the paramedics hands that had been with her and thanked them.”

Later, the fan in question wrote online, “Don’t you ever say Harry doesn’t care. He broke through the security barrier, despite security not wanting him to, to hug me and hold me and make sure I was ok while we just held each and said we loved each other.”

She added, “People say to never meet your idols, but he’s exceeded all expectations. Words cannot describe how genuine, kind, loving and caring that boy is.”

Well, as per this article earlier, it’s no surprise to us that Harry’s a truly kind and generous soul, as are his band mates.

Good on Harry! He went against the advice to help one of his fans. I respect him for this. It shows that he hasn’t let fame get to him, and he still cares.

He is an absolute angel. I love him so much… words can’t even describe what a beautiful person he is. And he is always looking out for the fans… my gosh.
