^ The "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" play cast their actress for Hermione about a week ago. (:

Both. I adore Emma as Hermione and as Zanhar1 said I can't imagine anyone else playing her, but I can't judge as I haven't seen the play yet.

Like NCISLuverjk93 said, I haven't seen the new Hermione yet so I can't judge whether I'll like her or not, but I'm interested to see how she plays Hermy in comparsion to Watson's portrayal.

Context: people on social media are protesting about a black woman being cast as Hermione in "The Cursed Child", because she doesn't look like Emma Watson.

No one's complaining that Harry hasn't been cast with blue eyes or Ron with red hair, as would be consistent with the movie. Skin colour should be just as inconsequential... yet everyone's kicking up a fuss. Wonder what that says about us.

^^I think it's more about a difference from how she's described in the books (and a more obvious one than eye or hair colour too) rather than being different to the original actress, or specifically a race issue.
