I remember visiting this website once...
It was called Downton Abbey - Season 5 - Episode 5 - Review
Here's some stuff I remembered seeing:
What Happens In London, Stays In London – Downton Abbey Season 5 Episode 5
We are inching our way towards everyone’s truths in this week’s episode. Things that were well under wraps have been slowly unraveling for weeks. It seems all but impossible to keep them hidden much longer.
It may take one more week before things totally fall apart. At the moment things are just continuing to unravel, albeit slowly.
After countless pleadings by the Drewe family for her to stay away, Edith makes another impromptu visit to the farm, this time with her Aunt Rosamund in tow. This intrusion proves to be the last straw for the Drewes.
Mr. Drewe tells Edith his wife is so uncomfortable with her overbearing ways that she wants to pack up and move away. Edith turns to the only two she can, Rosamund and Violet. Their suggestion is to take Marigold from the Drewes and send her to a boarding school in Paris.
Not surprisingly, Edith is not in favor of an idea that will take her child further away from her.  Instead she begins making her own secret plan, which begins with a private call to someone in London.  Why does everyone go to London to do their scandalous acts?
At this point, I wish she would come clean.  The storyline has been played out and when the truth is finally revealed, the family will probably care less than viewers do.
Mary has not heard from the brokenhearted Gillingham since unceremoniously dumping him last week. Not letting the moss grow under her feet, she plans to return to London to have dinner with Charles Blake.
Just as when she saw Blake at the dress show, he is again with Tony’s ex-fiancee Mabel Fox.  He has brought them together in hopes of hatching a plan for Mabel to go back to Gillingham so he will forget about Mary. Mary isn’t opposed to the idea but Mabel clearly takes umbrage to doing anything to benefit Tony’s “other woman”.
Blake is all about conniving and scheming to get what he wants, which is everything Mary does not need in a man.  If things go awry with him as they did Gillingham, Blake will definitely not go away as quietly.  Be careful Lady Mary!
The Investigators meet with Anna who confesses to being in London at the time of Green’s death.  However, she states she was there working as a maid to Lady Mary and claims to have not gone anywhere else.  Take that with a huge grain of salt because she also told them she liked Mr. Green “very much”.
The Investigators don’t flat out say they don’t believe her story; however, they forbid her from leaving Downton with Lady Mary as she had planned to.  Hmm… are they on to something?  This is another storyline I am hoping will not drag on too much longer.
As much as she tries to convince Robert that Mr. Bricker’s is only interested in their paintings, he knows better (as does she).  Bricker is due to return yet again and this time Robert will be away for the night.  This seems to have all the makings for a disaster.
When it comes time to retire for the night, Bricker makes his move.  He comes uninvited into Lady Grantham’s bedroom.  As she is unsuccessfully asking him to leave, Robert returns home early to find them together.
Simon goes on a diatribe about how Cora has not been receiving the attention she deserves so of course this was going to happen.  Robert finally fights for his lady, literally.  The two tussle and it ends with Cora left alone as Bricker retreats to his room and her husband to his dressing room.
Tom FINALLY stands up to Sarah Bunting about the Grantham’s.  Although she may not like them, he reminds her they are his family and his daughter is one of them.  She finally seems to get the hint and plans to leave town.
She tells Daisy her plan and how she can no longer continue to be her tutor.  Devastated, Daisy tries to appeal to Tom to get her to stay.
He does go to see her just as she is preparing to leave.  Although Sarah admits she was in love with him, Tom has a well-timed moment of clarity and still lets her go.  Ding dong the witch is dead!
Still not willing to reveal his diagnosis, Thomas seems to be dying before our eyes. Even the Granthams are questioning his health.  No matter how bad it may be, the pig-headed Thomas is not willing to confide in anyone.
To me, his illness is the most intriguing storyline at the moment.  Based on the preview for next week, it seems we may finally get a little more information as to what he is battling.  Hope it’s not Ebola!
So, another week and again not much more is being revealed.  I had hoped it would be this week that we would have more drama but it seems we will have to hold out hope for one more week.  Waiting!
