I joined Fanpop in late January 2008. It does not take too for one to have favourite users - whether it is based on spots you have in common,a user's quality contributuion to the site, age group, etc. I had noticed amazondebs' name around the site a lot right from the beginning, but to be honest I did not think that I had too much in common with her. We did not really belong to the same spots and she is actually in my own daughter's age group. I did however admire her various contributions and her comments.
Then about 3 months ago I went on the site very late at night.I did not much feel like even going on the net as I had a horrible day - I had just quit my job!
I'd had enough of the getting my butt out of bed at 5:00 am to work a 10 hour shift and put up with crap from a manager who actually was incapable of finding her rear end with her own two hands. I was also having family hassels and further stress with the ex-hubby.
It was definitely not one of my best days ... but amazondebs made it better. She had given me a prop for my comments and along with the prop this is what she wrote
"your honest and funny and can be such a sweetie with your comments and have done so much in a few months, so this is basically a general prop for being such a cool person."
It's amazing how a few sentences written by a stranger on the other side of the world can have such an uplifting impact on one. And you did, Deb.
You turned a crap day into a better one for me and made me feel good about myself and for that I will always remember and love you.
