Young Frankenstein Do you think that "Young Frankenstein" was kind of a rip off of "Son of Frankenstein" from 1939?

I'm sorry I couldn't add any pics to this. As well as not being able to enter more than 2 choices, that's just another thing my computer won't let me do. :(

If you haven't seen "Son of Frankenstein" yet, I highly recommend it. It stars Boris Karloff as the monster, Basil Rathbone as the son of Henry Frankenstein, Bela Lugosi as Ygor, and Lionel Atwill as the wooden-armed police inspector.
My copy is on VHS, and I'm not sure if it's available on DVD, but if it's not, you might be able to find it on cable tv.
I saw "Young Frankenstein" first, and loved it. When I finally acquired "Son of Frankenstein", I was amazed at the similarities. I never thought that something billed as a horror film from 1939 could be so hilarious. They're both wonderfully entertaining. ;)

ImAGeorgiaPeach - You're most definitely correct about that!
I am familiar with what a parody is, and I should have used the words 'inspired by' instead of 'ripped off'.
As far as that goes, I prefer 'Spaceballs' and the Family Guy parodies to the original Star Wars Trilogy.
Sometimes watching the original films can just add to the enjoyment of the parodies. I hope that anyone who wasn't familiar with the original Frankenstein films can see what inspired Young Frankenstein. ;)
