Only time I ever call characters seme or uke, is when the couple is actually canon and the couple actually does have a more dominate partner. But even then I still say whoever wants to top can top.

I only really used those terms when I was just starting out in the Yaoi fandom.

I just think it's offensive sometimes, the way people mark one character as the uke and seme. Because people always make the uke seem helpless and the seme as flawless. Anyone can top in those kind of relationships.

^I really can't stand those type of "defenseless uke" couples...they just peeve me off.

It's a way for me to talk about yaoi in school and no one knows what we mean. Lol X) but I don't really use it like they means. I use the two words like top and bottom.

I do it when I'm fangirling but no one knows what I'm talking about... XD

I hate the seme/uke stereotype: it’s not exactly a realistic portrayal of gay relationships. These stereotypes drive me crazy. Yes, I do still watch yaoi despite these stereotypes, but I refuse to use "uke" and "seme" to describe the characters that are in a homosexual relationship. It is just not realistic.
