While the theme to the US opening is catchy as hell and iconic, I have to give it to the Japanese openings for being able to hype me even more than the US version did. The action was badass, the animation was far beyond the US version, and if I was a Japanese kid watching that intro, and then got fed the cartoon that followed, I would have been pissed.

ESB picked US opening:
Both Japanese openings are just random action scenes, big deal, the US opening builds tension with the music, the scenes tells a story about each character, their name (each with a unique font style), what their abilities are, who they fight (other mutants, sentinels, humans) that humans both fear and hate them (Jubilee running for her life) and so on.
