Personally I always thought the underlying point to Edwards behaivior was to present a partner who was both Dangerous (girls love a bad boy) while being almost preternaturally conciderate and thus carefull with the one he loves (read that as dangerous to everyone else but the girlfriend).
I guess if the world is a dangerous place it would be nice to have someone who would be dangerous for you and care enough to have your best interests in mind. If I'm right then this is something I could agree with (if I found the right person).
As far as the rediculous amount of guys without their shirts on thats not fair. How many action movies have been made with extra pretty scantily clad women with big bouncing breasts plus or minus a couple gratuitous sex sceens. If guys get their eye candy why cant women get theirs for once. This goes for the glittery skin on the vampires as well.
As far as the hostility/posessiveness goes Bella changes Edward over the course of the books. At the beginning of book one he logically considers wiping out a room full of teenagers just to drink Bella's blood. The multiple murders themselves don't seem to be the primary reason he doesn't do it but rather the reaction and shame he would recieve from the rest of the Cullen family. It is Carliles opinion that sways him originally. Then as the books progress he goes from that to allying with Jakob being nice to Bella's other friends and family. Without meaning to Bella seems to warm him back up to life.

out of curiosity was it the movie or the books that you refer to. there is much missing from the movie not to mention a certain sense of timing.

Unless there is some good reason for it. (Which there rarely is)
Plus the shirtless guys are about EVERY 3 mins.

And this is supposed to be a romance movie/novel
Romance is supposed to be more then skin deep.
But with all the shirtless guys in this series it kinda losses that appeal.
Note it's the same thing when it comes to romance movies and there female characters keep taking there cloths off.

I love everything about twilight people!!! And that is what is unique about twilight is that they don't have fangs and that they sparkle in the sunlight! It is a different way to express vampires! And I don't usually argue srry but I'm serious.. But everyone has diffrent opinions :)

Yes it is different but it still feels non sensible.
What is the point of something being "different" if the things that they change are really stupid (at least to me)

But you can't argue the fact that when the Cullens claim to be vegetarian vampires that statement is clearly false.

Just because something is stupid in your opinion doesn't mean its stupid to someone else. Whats wrong with being different? This world has to many of the same plastic barbies. we need things and people who are unique. even if it is just a story. If every thing was the same things would be really boring.

My main problem with this series is that it has to many cliches and when it tries to be different it feels stupid to me.
And I know of a lot of people who would support me.
But I'm aware this isn't a universal thought.
As for the vegetarian vampires thing.
They claim that because they don't suck blood from humans they are vegetarians.
This is false because to make up for that they suck the blood of animals instead.
But that isn't being a vegetarian that is just changing the type of meat your eating so too speak.
The only way they could be vegetarians is that they suck the juices out of plants or fruits or something.
They could of just said: "we are vampires who don't drink human blood" rather then vegetarian vampires.

There's one problem with The Twilight Saga, Edward being over protective and Bella letting Edward boss her around. What kind of a boyfriend won't let you hang out with your best firend?

Ok but the vegetarian thing is supposed to be a joke. And suck the juice from plants? What kind of plants have blood? I am a huge animal lover but its better then killing people. Humans do it every day. We eat meat. And I mean its just a book. So what if it has cliches. A lot of books do and no one attacks them.

I think that like any other joke if you have to explain it then it isn't going to be funny anymore. The whole vegetarian vampire thing falls under that catagory. It was meant as an inside family JOKE.
as far as some of the other details being nonsensical...so what its a story! If your not going to enjoy the books anyway then why should the details matter. Ive said it before and I guess am again, pointing out the flaws in something that others love is selfish and unkind. Even if your completely correct are you really doing anyone a real service by clouding their good memories of a beloved thing?

By the way I say selfish because if it wasn't you wouldn't need to prove you are right. the fact that you keep doing this makes me feel like you need to.

To give an analogy it's the same as when a Director goes back and redoes a movie (such as starwars or Legend). No matter how much better they think they are making things it still steps on happy memories. Personally I find many of the negative comments make me feel the same way. kinda stepped on.

Wait the negative comments about Twilight make you feel bad? are you the author? Did you sit down and write this book? No. so why would you get offended when someone criticizes it? why do other people not have the right to express their opinion just because you don't like it. I am a Twilight fan but I don't get offended when someone decides to disagree with me. I still respect them. Just because others love it dose not mean no one can say bad things about it.

I'm sorry if my thoughts on Twilight make you upset but this is the best place for me to voice my opinion because people resist it.

And when it comes to the vegetarian vampires I will admit it is a bit of a nitpick.

I personally don't think Jacob is hot at all, so it's annoying that he never wears cloths. And the biggest thing that annoys me about Twilight is actually the fans. I'm honestly embarassed to be one most of the time, just because of the way they act.

I have to agree with you.(except for the Jacob not being hot thing. There I have to disagree) The die hard fans of Twilight are really annoying. I am a fan but I can sit down and talk like this to people who have different opinions. A lot of people can't because they get "offended". Why? I will never have any clue.

At first i loved twilight, edward and bella was a beautiful couple throughout the series. UNTIL BREAKING DAWN!!! I just hated it after if found out that jacob imprinted on bella's baby thats where i DRAW THE LINE. I hate twilight and it's a tupid ending and series. I've seen better books.
