When I was about 8, right before my mother left me and my dad, she sat me down in my room and told me something.I want you to remember everything you see around you, colors, people, everything you possibly can. Your life will change and that will come in handy. Goodbye Isabella. at the time she told me this I didn’t understand what she meant by that, but when I turned 15 and was a freshman in Forks High School I understood what she meant.
I now have a secret; I’m not the type of person who likes having people feel pity for me. So I only told a few my secret, only those who it was necessary.
My name is Isabella Swan of Forks Washington. My mother left my dad when I was 8 for some unknown reason. My dad, Charlie, was the Chief of Police in this small town. 3,120 people lived here, and everyone knew everyone. My friend Angela came over to my house to help me get ready for school and she drove us. Today was Monday, and everyone hated Mondays, as did I, but today was special. A new family was rumored to move here. I don’t pay attention to gossip but they apparently moved here from Alaska or something like that.
So there was a buzz floating around school. Before I left the safety of the car I put my contacts in. Today was Monday and every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday I had a doctor’s appointment. I was used to going in, since I have been doing it since I was 15.
I cautiously got out of the car and walked side by side with Angela, she had every class with me. I had a feeling Dr. Smith, my doctor had something to do with it. My shoulder continually bumped against Angela’s, but that’s how we normally walked. I looked around to see where we were to no hope.
I noticed I didn’t feel Angela near me, where did she go? I felt helpless without her and it was true, people brushed all around me as they headed for their classes, even though the bell didn’t ring they still headed to class. Have you ever been lost in a crowd? It can make people panic.
I felt someone standing in front of me, small and dark haired, she was petite for a high-schooler, and she probably could fit in at a middle school.
"Hi! I’m Alice Cullen, my family just moved here from Alaska. I was wondering if you could show me around?"
Why me? Why not the other students that surrounded us?
"I'm Isabella Swan, but I like to go by Bella, I can’t really showed you around-"
"Bella!" I heard Angela’s voice.
"Angela there you are, this is Alice Cullen."
I heard them murmur their hellos and the bell rang.
"Isabella and I have to go to class, bye Alice."
"By Angela, and Bella I think you and I will become great friends."
What did she mean by that? I barely knew her and even then I would have to tell her my secret if she was going to be my friend.
The day went by sluggish, lunch was interesting because the Cullen’s all sat together and rumors were already starting by no other than Jessica and Lauren.
Biology was the only class I wasn’t sitting right next to Angela, the principal put us right next to each other in every class. But this class I sat next to one of the Cullens. Edward Cullen to be exact. I didn’t bother to take my stuff out for the class; I was leaving soon anyways as soon as that phone rang...
It did after 5 minutes of waiting.
"Isabella Swan, you’re going to a doctor’s appointment?" He said it more like a question than a statement; he didn’t know why I left early every Monday, Wednesday and Fridays. I got up and used the other desks as guidance to get to the front doors. Since Angels wasn’t allowed to go to the doctor’s appointments one of the nurses, Cathy, drove me to my appointment. She knew about me just like Angela did.
I sat in the car, looking out the window, but it did me no good to since the town wasn’t big and threes nothing to see besides the obvious.
"Ok Bella we are here."
I got out of the car and used Cathy's shoulder for guidance just like I did with Angela.
"Bella, your normal Doctor, Dr. Smith, isn’t here but the new doctor Dr. Cullen is here. He'll be taking a look at you today."
Why me? Maybe I can somehow skip...
"Isabella Swan?" I voice was unknown to me so it must probably belong to Dr.Cullen. I follwed him into a room and sat down one those bed things with the papper on it.
He shifted through a few papers, "Well Isabella-"
"Just Bella, Dr.Cullen."
"Ok Bella, so what is it that Dr. Smith checks with you?"
"My eyes."
He grabbed one of those little flashlights every doctor appearently gets. They are always flashing something in your eye.
"Are you wearing contacts?"
"Oh yeah sorry, im used to having them in." I took out my contacts and put them back into their case.
"Bella on here it says your eyes are brown, correct?"
"I guess so, I was born with brown eyes."
"Then why are they blue?"
"Doctor Cullen, when I turned 15, one day I woke up blind."

Later that day, Jerek was visiting with Verona, and I was bored off my ass. I was wanting to talk to Tabra, but every time I approached him, he was suddenly busy. We had people on watch guard, and Shropee didn't need me to do anything, so I was bored. Very. Bored.
"I'm bored." I said to Holly who was walking past me.
"Like I care!" She snapped, and continued on her way.
"Well." I got to my feet, and started off to see how Verona's doing.
When I got to the bottom of the steps, Jerek ran out of the room. "I'll be back. I'm getting Shropee."
"Wait. What? Why?" I asked. "Is she okay?"
"She's awake." Jerek called over his shoulder, and I gasped.
Verona's awake? Verona's awake. Verona's awake.
