I actually agree with Stefan's choice to let Elena do this. But I understand Damon's fear of loosing her. He loves someone again, that is hard for him. The one he loves is in serious danger.
Stefan should have an understanding for that. He never gets Damon. When he should have been a good brother and seen his brothers pain, he acts all holier than thou. He could have reached out a hand. Showed that they were in this together. Instead he said that it was good that Damon loves Elena because it means he will protect her. I wonder where his concern for his brother is in all this.
