I gotta say Elena for both the books and the TV show.

Books:
I hate Katherine for torturing the boys but I love her at the same time but overall, Elena.

TV series:
Cause Katherine hasn't came in yet (here) and also cause I heard she hurts Damon (emotionally)!!!!

I prefer Elena don't like Katherine.
