Is Alric's elena dad, dad, or step dad?

Well, he was married to Elena's mother, so I guess that would make him her step dad. But, it was not until after Elena was born that he met her.
So, I guess we will find out soon enough. Maybe closer to the end? But yeah, I cannot wait to see when they both find out who each other of them is.
