The Vampire Diaries TV Show Question

Can someone help me please? BIG QUESTION.

I'm from England, and the last episode I watched was a few weeks ago on Tuesday, and there hasn't be one since. Does anyone from England know if that's the last episode or not?
The last thing that happened was Stefan got out of the toom because Elena made that deal.. ?
It can't be the end of the series because I'm pretty sure there has only been a few episodes, and the last series had 22 episodes.
Can someone please help?

Oh right, thanks :) But that might just be for you guys :/ everything comes out there before it does here.. so it might come out later :/ do you know why there was a big break between the episodes?
