How come in the tv show Damon has not been trying to get Elena to like him anymore I mean he should give up that easy on her does anyone no if he even still loves her or is he just gona ive up cus in the last...

Maybe he is trying to figure out the best way to get her to forgive him. Romance will be difficult if Elena hates his guts. I dont think he will ever give up trying to get her to love him. That wouldnt be a Damon thing to do.

He is just giving her some space. She clearly said that she doesn't want anything to do with him right now.. I would find it annoying if he would be walking around like a lost puppy trying to make Elena forgive him when all she need is some time.

Maybe his mind has been set on Katherine think about it the last episode in the first season he thought he was kissing Elena and when he found out it was Katherine that's all he's been able to think about.

I think he's just trying to get back in Elena's good books . maybe he should kidnap her and take her away from Mystic Falls til he can get her to fall in love with her.

I'm convinced he would never give up, but at the same time he's sort of exhausted all possible roads of redemption with Elena; he was honest about what happened with Jeremy, he took a stake in the back to save her life, he sincerely apologized for his actions and, more than anything, he allowed himself to be vulnerable with her. There's not much else he can do. At this point I think he's giving her what she wants, which is space, and in a way maybe trying to salvage some of his pride. Damon's not the pathetic, groveling type.
