Well as a die-hard fan of the show, my take on this is simple. I have seen the show since I was 6 years old because I was only 2 when it first aired and I remember the first few seasons were not only funny, but had several touching and meaningful episodes that would make you tear as well.
Of course, you cannot expect a show that has been going on for this long to maintain that spark because writers come and go and change often. I still appreciate the show very much and I watch it whenever there is something new on. But deep down, I still miss the magic that was in the first few seasons...
Well the first few seasons were more about bart but when season 14 came on it was like the show was all about homer witch was great but now it is more about bart again.
