I liked Michael better when he was a part of a couple of the really emotional scenes. First, on the Booze Cruise when he and Jim were talking about Pam. Second, when he was talking to Pam at the art show. In neither scene was he cocky like usual.

I agree. I like him in "Traveling Salesmen" when he puts his fishing skills lower than those of his client (and then Andy screws it up). Michael actually showed signs of intelligence that day.

Definitely my fave Michael is when we see his heart and that he really does care about all his employees.

David Brent is a horrible person. He is everything that is wrong with Micheal Scott.

Agreed. First Season Michael was just a bad imitation of David Brent. Even Ricky Gervais said they wished they had brought more humanity and competence to David Brent's character and he's impressed with the fact that Michael is actually (somewhat) likable.

yeah he kinda annoyed me the first season, but I kept watching for Jim and Pam. sometimes he is still borderline annoying, but it is only when he is mean to a really nice person.

first-season-michael was funny, but it was just a bad immatation of ricky gervais.
im glad his character kind of came into his own.

I hated Michael in the First Season. But in Season 2, he started to become a much better character.
