I think he'd still ally with her, but I'm not sure if he'd have still declared his love for Katniss in the interview. "Because her sister came here with me" doesn't have quite the same impact. Similarly, I don't think he'd be as willing to sacrifice himself for Prim - half the reason he was fighting for Katniss is because he believed she had a better chance that him anyway, and that wouldn't be true for Prim.
