The Hunger Games Question

Am I the only one anoyed by all the "team Gale" and "team Peeta" ??

Is it just me? Or is anyone else notising that after the movie came out, people who hasn't read the books are starting to make it like Twilight? Am I the only one who has read all 3 books, and get the point Collins was trying to make? It's not about who Katniss end up with either "team Gale" or "team Peeta" , but about what damage the capitol did to them all, and how lucky we all should be to live in a world with free countries and stuff. So am I the only one who is anoyed about all the "Gale is the best, I think she's gonna end up with him" or" team Peeta all the way <33"
Can't people just read the books and get all the facts before they start arguing about which of the characters are best?

In all forms, yes. The majority of the fangirls know who Katniss ends up with, who she talks to first, who she kisses more, who she kisses first, etc. So why the heck are you threatening that you'll slit someone's throat with a butter knife, or catch them in a spiked snare if they're not team Gale or Peeta? Seriously, those girls are vicious. They sometimes scare me. O.O

Anyway, back to the point: The movie has somewhat ruined the books, in my opinion. Since I'd already read all three books, I went to see the movie, and thought it was really good, a little rushed, but still awesome. But there are so many freakin' people who think they know everything about the Hunger Games just because they'd seen the movie, without reading the books.
And I agree with you, the books aren't revolved around the love triangle. They focus on the powers of a strong central government, and the differences in society. Not Katniss' freakin' love life. I feel like a Capitol citizen whenever I read arguments over who she liked more.

Ok so I don't mind the whole teams thing, but I don't like people comparing Twighlight and HG. I know there is a love triangle, like in Twighlight, but that is not exactly the main focus of the book. Its close, because it makes a huge impact on katniss in all the books.

Quite frankly, it annoys me a little too. I mostly don't mind. The only reason I read the books was because I wanted to learn what she thought the USA would be like if people went out of control. I also read it for the knowledge of ideas such as Conspiracy Theory. I didn't read to find out who was hotter but I read to grasp what message the author was saying.

Oh, it annoys me with more words than I can possibly express. It just feels like, with all the Hunger Games consist of, they could focus on.. other things, I suppose. We all have our own tastes, of course. But these "teams" are starting to be obnoxious, in my eyes.

There's just much more to focus on. The whole "team" thing reminds me too much of Twilight- this is not a slam towards those who like Twilight, just using it as an example to how crazy some fandoms can get on "romantic" situations.

No. I personally find it REALLY annoying.

The Hunger Games is NOT Twilight. The books ARE NOT ABOUT ROMANCE! I feel like no one gets that the books are about WAR and not Romance.

I mean, sure Katniss does struggle with her feelings but that's not the main point of the book, and that's probably only even in there because Collins knew she'd attract more people to read it if it had "love" in it.

I mean, HELLO, Katniss was faking her romantic feelings for Peeta for almost all of the books. That's hardly a romance, let alone cause for a "Team" thing.

It's quite easy to grasp the fact that it's a lot more than a love triangle story even without having read the books.

No, you're not the only one. I personally hate the love triangle. I find it completely unnecessary. The books are about many dark and ugly themes, and the twilight-esque love triangle doesn't fit there. I don't care about the movies, I find them manufactured to fit the younger audience, and they completely ignore most of the things I love about the books.
