The Hunger Games
answer this question
The Hunger Games Question
Is there any part of THG movie that you thought was done better than in the book?
For me, it would definitely be the exchange between Peeta and Katniss the night before the Games ( when Peeta says he doesn't want the Capitol to 'own' him ). In the book, I found Katniss' response to Peeta to be quite shocking. Essentially accusing him of thinking that he's better than everyone else and then storming off!! I lost a fair bit of respect for her after that and didn't like her for quite awhile. It was typical, immature teenage behaviour from someone who, based on the previous chapters, I had come to believe was more insightful and level-headed than a typical teenager. Later on; when she finally admits that initially she didn't understand what Peeta meant I was thinking 'so you bit the poor guy's head off just because you were too narrow-minded to comprehend what he was saying?'
Thankfully, the movie handles this exchange MUCH better, IMO. Katniss' response of not being able to afford to think like that is more like the kind of response I would have expected from her.
