The Hunger Games Question

What did you think of the ending of Suzanne Collins' "Mockingjay" book?

I found it sweet but somehow dissatisfying. I had to read it over and over to understand what was going on.
It was sweet and I like that Peeta and Katniss are together. But I didn't find it as a satisfying end as I thought it'd be. I just finished the book, soooo.....
What were your thoughts? :D
And I love these books now that I finished the series :D

It seemed rushed! I don't like that Gale just left I mean come on. I'm happy that her and peeta were together but she should have had at LEAST a friendship with Gale or even mentioned him as comeing to visit.

I too found the end a little un satisying. Prior to the epilogue, i didnt like how all of katnisses anger shifted onto president coin (even though she was evil) its like snow was still controlling katniss right until his death. Even though katniss choosing peeta was inevitable i reeeaalllly wanted her to choose gale, i didnt like him leaving one bit :( the very end was sweet, i thought it was pretty conclusive. Plus katniss sounds so wise in the end, i liked that too :) shes a smart cookie.

I found the ending very unsatisfying for such a phenomenal series. It was kind of anti-climatic really, in my opinion. I do love that Peeta and Katniss ended up together, but was it really Peeta? Did he ever fully come back or remember everything? I know you're supposed to read between the lines in the end, but I felt it was so rushed, and it could of been so much more.
It was disappointing by the fact that she gets back to her home, and her and Peeta aren't acting like lovers but then suddenly it just says they grow back together. Whaaaaat. I love Peeta and Katniss so much, and for it just to say they eventually grew back together was so disappointing. :( Where's the detail?
Not to mention the fact that her bestfriend of 5 years supposedly just disappears to District 2 without a goodbye. He was just written off, after being such a main character. And we don't even get to learn about how the new government works or what the districts are like now. :(

I think that it was totally rushed. Also, I would have liked a fourth book explaining what happened to the districtsm the government, ex. I know that the reader is supposed to infer the ending, but with so many unexpected twists and turns in these books, I don't think I could!! The epilogue wasn't enough. I don't know about you guys but I kinda got emotionally attached to these characters. I wanted to know how things turned out. I mean, we do know that Katniss and Peeta get married and live in district 12 and have two kids; a boy and a girl. We know that Gale is in District 2 and Katniss's mom is in some other district. But I wanted to know about their LIVES in those districts. I wanted to know I'd Gale got married, I wanted to know a a lot of things. And I want to know more.

The ending was very rushed and seemed forced. I got the impression that Collins was in a bit of a rush to finish this series. I was quite disappointed. It was dissatisfying. I wouldn't have minded Katniss and Peeta together if Gale just didn't leave. He just left her, which made no sense. If they were such good friends beforehand, wouldn't he at least have the heart to get over his jealousy and possibly retain their friendship? I don't know. It was a rushed ending.

I do agree that they should give more detail in the epilouge. However it did say that Katniss and Gale had grown apart. They were talking about it in snows manshion. I do think that Gale abandoned Katniss because she married Peeta, so i am completley team Peeta!!!!! And also I feel bad for Haymitch.

I found the ending to very disappointing. I actually think Suzanne Collins left her fan base in state of rushed turmoil. Katniss's journey in the end had all been in vain. She was unable to save the person who she loved above everyone. She was used left, right and center. Left in a blown up village with someone programmed to kill her. as if her mum or Gail would let that happen. Then Suzanne Collins tries to send my emotions into the wild with a cat! I'm not happy with it. Yes I agree Peeta should be the one to be happy with Katniss. But not like this. I would of liked to see the two people Katniss met in the woods again. and I would of liked to see the cat do something, like lead them to Prim. like everything had it's purpose. but I think that is my rant over. I have made up and imagine my own ending.
