So one of the main reasons I love Spike and Buffy's relationship is because it's developed over time, gone through so many interesting changes. I was never sure exactly where it was going or what would happen next. There's so much history and depth between them by the end of the series.

But seriously, Bangel was really great in seasons 1 and 2, but I do feel like it moved really fast. This of course was APPROPRIATE because it was a high school, first love sort of thing. That's how they are. I think both Bangel and Spuffy are very real. But I much prefer a long development when it's a couple I really love. And I think Spuffy's chemistry is insane.

& Im not the biggest fan of Bangel. Too soapy/first love for me.
