i wonder if maybe he said that he didn't believe to make it easier on buffy as there seems to be some understanding pass between them (well obviously that main reason was for angel)

This was hard-but I really believe it meant more for her to say i believe in you in that moment-it was deliberate, no one was on the verge of dying-he was in the grips of something terrible.
I love you would have meant the world to him if it had come at any other moment-and it did mean the world to him I'm sure, because I'm convinced she did mean it.

Although i love the "I love you' one also it was very sweet but i like this one better becasue it saved him and in the other one it couldnt but i think he only said no you dont so that he could save the world because if he let himself believe it he might not have done it but both were great Spuffy moments

the 'i love you' was sweet, and spike had waited a long time to hear that... but after all of their history from seasons 2 through six, i really think that buffy telling spike that she believed in him, that she thought he was worth it, that he could be somebody, that he had potential and was strong, was really powerful.

it was amazing, and when she came to rescue him, the way she looked at him, it was really beautiful

I think she did love him. In the end she did. She did use him in season 6 but by the end of season 7 she definitely loved him.

This one has a lot more meaning for me though. Just because it shows that even after all hes done to her she still believes that he can be a better man.

I can't choose.. I know a lot of people think she was just saying "I love you" because he would want to hear it, but I truly think she did love him at that point. But since he didn't believe it, the message never really got across, but it did when she said, "I believe in you, Spike" So both are pretty meaningful... but one didn't really translate.
