No, it wouldn't have been right. Season 7 was about their love transcending the physical. It was about Spike trying to redeem himself for attacking Buffy.

No, I thought their love in season 7 was perfect<3 Spike was trying to redeem himself for Buffy and showing her he is a better man. Like i said I thought their love in season 7 was perfect.
