The Rasoul Saga
Chapter 8: Seeing Mancer Again
Kyle laid on a large, soft bed, although this bed wasn't his own. He was in the hospital, still in a fairly bad shape from the fight with I2 and Ruby. He still couldn't believe that Virus had turned them against him like that... And he couldn't believe that I2 was gone. He released a heavy sigh, closing his eyes slightly at all of the thoughts that swam around in his head.
In the room with him, there stood Kagen, Casey, and Ruby. Kagen turned his head to look at his golden furred hedgehog friend, laying his ears back against his head. "It's going to be alright, Kyle... I told you... We'll try our best to deal with the current villain threats and get I2 back..."
"I know you said that, Kagen... I just can't help but worry, though... You have no idea what I'm feeling right now..." Kyle replied quietly.
"Kyle... No, I don't know what you're feeling... But, you're like a brother I've never had. I can't stand to see you like this, man..." Kagen said, his voice lowering slightly as a small wave of sadness coursed through him. "You... You need to get over it for right now... We need to deal with current affairs... I do care about I2 like you do, but we don't even know where she could be right now... We need to deal with current things, like Vice... And try to get I2 back when we see her or when we find out where she is."
Kyle released another heavy sigh before deciding to speak again. "...Alright... You're right... I guess... I guess I need to move on... At least until we find out more about where I2 went..."
"There you go," Kagen said, trying to put a small smile on his face. "I really do care about I2 as well, but we need to focus on current things until we can learn more."
While Kyle and Kagen continued to talk quietly with each other, Ruby and Casey were having a conversation of their own on the other side of the small hospital room. Casey seemed to be slightly angry at Ruby for the events that had happened before.
"Why are you so angry at me...?" Ruby asked quietly.
"Three reasons," Casey replied flatly. "One, you're an Identity or whatever like the girl that tried to steal my boyfriend. Two, you attacked Kyle. Three, Kyle is still hurt! You didn't heal him."
"Well... It's not my fault that I'm an Identity... That's just who I am! Two, I couldn't help the fact that I attacked Kyle..." Ruby replied with sadness in her voice. "She was controlling me to make me attack him. Three, I'm not familiar with using my Chaos Energy powers. I've never had to use them much, so I've never had much experience with using them... That's why I couldn't heal him completely."
Casey, still fairly angry, continued arguing with Ruby for quite some time, pretty much tuning themselves out away from Kagen and Kyle. Kagen noticed that they were angry, and attempted to stop their arguement, but to no avail.
After quite some time of bickering and arguing, Casey finally stopped the arguement, then slowly walked over to Kyle. "Kyle... I'll see you another time. I need to go home now... I hope you feel better soon."
"I'm sure I will, Casey... The doctor said I should be ok enough to leave in about one or two days. I'll make sure to come visit you if you don't come back to see me while I'm still here," Kyle replied with a small smile.
"I'll do my best to make sure that I get to see you again as soon as possible," Casey replied. She leaned down over the bed and gave Kyle a small, short kiss on the cheek, and then walked out of the room.
"I think I'm going to leave, too, Kyle..." Ruby said, walking over to Kyle's bed. "I'm... I'm so sorry that I hurt you..."
"Ruby... Don't worry. I'm not angry at you..." Kyle said, trying his best to assure Ruby that he wasn't angry. "I know it wasn't your fault... I know Virus was controlling you..." He watched Ruby as she slowly lowered her head, looking fairly upset. "And... I promise that I'll get back I2 back. I promise I will... Whenever I see her again. I'll do my best to get her back. I would go look for her RIGHT now... But I'm still in this hospital... And then there's immediate threats like the new villain Vice and his team..."
"I know..." Ruby said quietly, nodding her head slightly.
"Ruby... Why don't we leave? You seem like you're starting to get upset..." Kagen said quietly, walking towards Ruby slightly.
"I'll... I'll be alright... But... Maybe we do need to leave and let Kyle have some rest..." Ruby agreed.
"You two don't have to leave if you don't want to... I'll be fine..." Kyle tried to assure them. You could hear it in his voice, however. He WAS tired.
"Kyle, buddy, you really need to get some rest. You got torn up pretty badly in the fight. You need to get as much rest as you possibly can before Vice decides to attack again," Kagen pointed out.
"...I guess you're right..." Kyle said quietly, releasing a quiet yawn. He couldn't help but wonder why Vice hadn't attacked already... And he couldn't help but wonder where Mancer had disappeared to. Had he really gone to get some kind of power regulator, or had he really just abandoned Kyle? Kyle didn't want to believe that Mancer had abandoned him, but at the same time, he couldn't keep that thought out of his mind.
"We'll come see you again tomorrow, Kyle... I'm sure of that. Try to sleep well," Kagen said while walking towards the door with Ruby.
"Yes, try to sleep well, Kyle..." Ruby said.
"I will. Don't worry about me, you two. I'll be fine," Kyle replied with a smile, trying to assure his friends that he felt fine. "My pain is going away and I seem to be healing, so I'm sure I'll be fine in a few days."
"We hope you will be, Kyle..." Ruby said, putting a small smile on her face. She turned to face Kagen. "I suppose we're leaving now..."
"Yes, let's give Kyle some rest," Kagen agreed, slowly walking out of the room with Ruby.
Kyle laid back in his bed, quickly feeling a tired feeling wash over him. He moved his his bed slightly, getting himself into a comfortable position, and was quickly asleep before he even realized it.
About two days later, Kyle was released from the hospital. He was feeling a lot better, and he was in a lot better health than he was compared to when he had first checked into the hospital. He was still upset over what had happened with Ruby and I2, but he was very slowly trying to get over it. Ruby was fine, and Kyle intended to try to get I2 back the moment he saw her or discovered where she was.
Kyle had a fairly nice time while in the hospital... Or at least as nice as he thought it could have gotten. He was visited many times by his friends, and his parents came and stayed at the hospital with him almost the entire time while he stayed there. He saw many of his friends, and some people that he knew that even weren't his friends at all. Some people from school came to make sure he was alright, as well. He felt like all of the attention and friendship helped him heal better... He felt healed physically AND emotionally, or at least a lot more than he had felt before.
Kyle walked into his house with his parents, brother, and sister, taking a deep breath as he walked in. Everything felt normal again... Or at least to a point. I2 was still missing, but he was trying not to think too much of it. He still remembered her, and he still thought about her, but he tried not to let the sadness get to him. He knew he would get her back someday, and he tried to keep that in his mind as a happy thought, not a sad and depressing thought.
"Does it feel better to be home, dear?" His mother asked, gently hugging Kyle. "I missed you so much, Kyle... I wanted my baby here with me, not at the hospital..."
"Yeah, it does feel better to be home, Mom... I missed you..." Kyle replied, hugging his mother. "I missed you too, Dad..."
"I missed you as well, son. I'm pretty sure that your brother and sister really missed you as well," His father replied.
"Yeah, we really missed you, bro. We were all really worried about you..." Kyle's sister Avina said. "Do you want to play some video games or something...?"
"Well, I would rather not right now... I would actually like to just go hang out in my room for a while if that's ok with everyone," Kyle said, looking his parents and siblings.
"That's fine with me, dear... I don't think your father will care, either," Kyle's mother said, turning her head to look at her husband.
"No, I don't care if he wants to go in his room for a while, Kushina. As far as I'm concerned... He could do pretty much all the relaxing that he wants for the next few days... I'm sure the last few days' events have been hard on him..." Kyle's father said.
"Yes, I'm more than sure that it probably was tough for him, Jacob..." Kushina said.
"So... It IS ok if I go in my room...?" Kyle asked.
"Yeah, it's fine," Both of Kyle's parents replied. His brother and sister also nodded to let him know that it was ok with them as well.
"Ok, then... I don't think I'll be up there for very long, though," Kyle said. He waved his hand a bit, and then started up the dark wooden steps to go to his room.
Kyle walked down the upstairs hallway and into his room, pushing the door back behind him as he walked in, but not shutting it completely. He walked over to his bed and threw himself down onto it, attempting to relax a bit. He released a sigh. It felt good to be home. His silence was soon interuppted, however, by a small knock on one of his bedroom windows. "What is that...?" He didn't think it was Kagen, due to the fact that it was very early in the morning and Kagen usually slept in for a while.
The knocking continued at a quiet, steady pace on his window, eventually making Kyle get up and open the window to see what was making the noise. "Hello?"
The knocking was actually revealed to be Mancer, who was sitting on the roof next to Kyle's window. He waved at Kyle, his piercing red eyes staring at Kyle through his helmet. "Hello again."
"Mancer! *Where have you been all of this time?! (*Mancer had left in Chapter 5*)" Kyle asked, feeling a mixture of emotions swimming around inside. He was happy to know that Mancer was back to help him with Vice, and also angry because Mancer hadn't come back soon enough to help him with all of the things that went down with Virus. He looked at Mancer as he climbed into the room through the window, expecting an answer.
"I told you that before I ever left... I was going to find you a power regulator. If your Rasoul powers aren't balanced, you can't use them properly enough to use their full potential. Luckily, I DID manage to find something to help you regulate your Rasoul powers," Mancer replied, ignoring the anger that he could hear in Kyle's voice. He held up two black rings that appeared to be made of some kind of black crystal. Upon further observing, Kyle could see that the rings looked like they were just big enough to fit around his own wrists.
"What... exactly are these...?" Kyle asked in curiousity, looking at the rings in slightly amazement.
"These are called Rasoul Rings. They're constructed from Rasoulin Crystal, a very special mineral-gem with is found exclusively in the Rasoul Dimension. It was named after the Rasoulin family, who were the first ones to ever discover this crystal. Anyway... this special crystal has the ability to store Rasoul energy, and they can help hold your excess energy so your powers will be balanced," Mancer replied, holding the rings up so Kyle could see them in a better view.
Kyle continued staring at the rings in amazement and curiousity. "Wow... The Rasoulin family? Were they really important in this Rasoul Dimension place?"
"Oh, they're STILL important. There are a total of four Rasoul Embodiments, who still live on today. They are the four Rasoulin brothers, and they run the entire Rasoul Dimension. Not like evil overlords, though. They see over the Rasoul Dimension like a goverment in a way. They take care of things like politics and improvements. I believe I've told you about one of them so far... The Alpha. He's one of the Rasoul Embodiments, and the second oldest out of the four," Mancer explained.
Kyle remained quiet, listening to Mancer's story in pure curiosity and amazement. He decided to speak again after Mancer was done talking, however. "Wow... That's really, really interesting to me. They sound like they're really important people. Wait... Do YOU know any of them, Mancer? Do you know any of them personally?"
Mancer laughed a bit at Kyle's question, almost seeming just a bit nervous. "Hah, no... I can't say that I do. I've heard that it's rare to meet them in public."
"Aw... I was kind of hoping that you did know them in person. I wanted to meet them! They sound like pretty interesting people to know," Kyle said, his eyes sparkling just slightly with excitement. He smiled slightly. "Oh well. Maybe I'll get lucky some day and meet them in person."
"Perhaps you will... I actually DO plan to take you to the Rasoul Dimension some time. It would be good for developing your powers. Lots of Rasoul just hangs in the air there, and it might just help your powers evolve a bit more," Mancer said.
"Really? You think it will?"
"Well, I can't say for certain. It might, but I can't say that it for sure will," Mancer replied. "Speaking of Rasoul... Has Vice been giving you any problems while I've gone? His team hasn't been after you, have they?"
"No, actually, they haven't. I don't know what they've been up lately... I actually just got out of the hospital," Kyle replied.
"Wait, you WHAT? You just got out of the hospital?" Mancer asked, concern now in his normally serious, deep voice.
"Yeah, I did... You missed all of that while you were gone," Kyle replied. He then began to explain what had happened with Virus to Mancer, pausing just slightly while he explained the fact that I2 was also missing.
"Oh... I'm... I'm so sorry that happened..." Mancer said quietly, lowering his head. He sounded almost sad.
"I know... I'm... I'm sorry it happened, too..." Kyle said, lowering his head. "I told myself that I'm going to try to get I2 back the moment I see her again or find out where she is..."
"I'm sure you will... I have no doubt in that. I've seen how your personality works," Mancer paused for a moment, trying to think of something that he could use to change the subject. He didn't want Kyle to get too depressed. "...Do you want to try out these new Rasoul Rings right now?"
Kyle nodded his head slightly, realizing that Mancer was trying to change the subject so he wouldn't be upset. "Sure, I would love to try them out. Do we need to go outside or something such as that?"
"No, we don't have to. We can stay in here if you want. All you need to do is just try them on and see how they feel... We don't have to do any training right now if you don't want to. I'm sure you're still recovering from... those events and the hospital..."
"You're right... I still don't feel exactly perfect yet. I would like to avoid any training today if that's alright with you... Or at least I want to avoid something this earlier in the morning. It's only 7:00 A.M."
"I know... I noticed that on your clock. I'm sorry I dropped by so early... I didn't really think about it, I guess. Anyway... Here's the rings," Mancer said, putting the wrist rings in Kyle's hands.
Even though the rings were supposed to be made of some kind of crystal, Kyle noted how light-weight they felt. He turned the rings in his hands slightly, observing them. "Wow... I still think these things are really cool, Mancer."
"That's nice... Like I said, they SHOULD 'soak up' your excess Rasoul energy and keep your powers balanced. Don't worry, though. You'll still have your excess energy, and you can still use it. All you have to do is take off the rings if you need to use the excess energy for anything," Mancer explained.
"Alright... That's really helpful," Kyle said, nodding his head slightly. He slowly slipped the rings onto his wrists while noting that they seemed to fit his wrists perfectly, and blinked a few times as an entirely new feeling washed over his body. His Rasoul energy felt... more calm to him now. "...Wow..."
"Feels different, doesn't it?"
"Yeah... WAY different. It's like my Rasoul energy actually feels calm right now."
"Exactly. That's what the rings are supposed to do. You should be able to use your powers in different ways now that it's balanced. I can teach you some new things over time, but you can also experiment with your powers yourself and see what kind of abilities and moves you can come up with."
"Really? Rasoul powers actually work that way? I can experiment and make new abilities on my own?" Kyle asked in surprise, fairly shocked.
"Well, to a certain point. You can't really make ENTIRELY new things, but for instance... If I teach you how to turn your arms into Rasoul blades, you might be able to play around and turn your arms into something such as Rasoul hammers," Mancer explained.
"Oh, I see! That's really cool!" Kyle said, excitement in his voice. A large smile grew on his face. "Will that be ok if I experiment with my powers like that sometime?"
"Of course it would be. Just make sure that you don't hurt anyone or strain yourself," Mancer said.
"I wouldn't. I would make sure not to hurt anyone, and I was try not to strain myself," Kyle replied. He still wore a look of excitement on his face. "Well... I said I didn't want to do anything training today... But now I'm actually excited for it."
"You're really excited over it now?" Mancer asked, laughing slightly. "Well, we can still go out into the backyard to train if you really want to."
"Do you think we can? At least for a little while...?" Kyle asked, excitement still in his voice and on his face.
Mancer laughed a bit more again, nodding his head slightly. "Sure, I don't mind. Are you sure you feel like it?"
"Well, I WOULD like to play with my powers a bit..."
"Alright then, let's go," Mancer said, climbing back out of Kyle's bedroom window and out onto the roof.
"Ok... Um... There a reason why you're going to climb down the roof and not go downstairs and go out the door?" Kyle asked, confusion in his voice.
"Your family didn't see me come in. It might confuse them if I just walk down the stairs with you. Not saying that they would do anything bad, but it would probably confuse them," Mancer pointed out.
"True... I didn't think about that."
"Alright, I'll see you in the backyard," Mancer said, giving a small wave to Kyle. He then jumped off of the roof, falling out of Kyle's sight.
Kyle, fairly shocked by the fact that Mancer had just jumped off of a roof, quickly moved over to the window and looked outside. "Mancer! Are you alright?!"
"I'm just fine," Mancer replied in his calm, normaly serious tone. He was standing normally on his feet, a little bit from the roof where he had dropped down. He waved at Kyle.
Kyle remained silent for a few short moments, before nodding his head slightly. "Alright... I thought that you may have gotten hurt... Since you just jumped off like that."
"I'm fine, boy. I'm also waiting on you to come out here with me," Mancer pointed out patiently.
"Oh... Right! I'm sorry," Kyle said, nodding his head again. He shut the window and then walked out of the room, looking around for any of his family. He didn't see any of them, so he continued down the stairs towards the living room. He then saw all of his family sitting on the couch and on the recliner chairs. "Hey, Mom? Dad? Is it ok if I go out into the backyard? A... friend of mine wants to help me with my powers... His name is Mancer. He's here to teach me how to use my powers better."
"That's fine with me. Just be careful not to get hurt," Kushina said. Jacob nodded his head to give his ok to Kyle as well.
"I'll make sure to be careful," Kyle replied, nodding his head. "Thank you!"
"You're welcome," Both parents replied.
Kyle thanked his parents once again, then turned and walked into the kitchen. He opened the sliding glass door and walked outside, making sure to close it behind him. The cold winter air blew against him as he walked outside, stinging his cheeks slightly. "Alright, I'm here, Mancer!"
"Alright," The black-helmeted creature called. He walked around the side of the house to get to where Kyle was, his red eyes staring out at Kyle once more. "Is there anything you would like to try first?"
"Huh... I don't honestly know," Kyle replied, tilting his head to the side just slightly. "Is there anything that you think I should try, Mancer?"
"I would say that you can try whatever you want, or I can give you something to start with."
"What do you think I should start with?" Kyle asked with a lot of curiosity in his voice.
"Well, perhaps you could work on advancing your projectile attack. That's the most basic ability of your Rasoul powers, and that's the thing that will drain your stamina and energy the least," Mancer said.
"Alright, I like the idea! I'll try!" Kyle said with excitement in his voice. He held his hands up, watching as small black Rasoul mist formed around his hands. "So... I just need to shoot it like a projectile?"
"Yes. You can continuing shooting it normal, or you can try different things to see if you can make anything new," Mancer replied. He walked over to the nearby stone porch near the back door, and set down on the stone steps. "I'm interested to see what you can create on your own without me giving you any ideas."
"Alright!" Kyle turned away from Mancer and his house, making sure that he wouldn't shoot any of his Rasoul projectiles into him or into the house. He took a deep breath and raised his hands, beginning to fire small sphere-shaped blasts of Rasoul energy up into the air. "Just like this, Mancer?"
"Yes, that's how you shoot your projectile attack normally... Although you can aim it directly at villains to hit them in fights. Anyway, you can continue firing it like that to help it become stronger over enough time, or you can see if you can make a new version of it," Mancer replied, sitting back against the steps. He stared at Kyle intently, curious to see if he could come up with a creative way to use his powers.
Kyle continued firing his powers normally into the air, until he paused for a short moment. "Hm..." Kyle pulled one of his arms back, and swung his arm foward in a hooking motion as he simultaneously shot his Rasoul energy out of the palm of his hand. He watched in amazement as his Rasoul energy shot out straight, but then quickly curved towards the right as it flew, before flying straight again. "Whoa!"
Mancer continued to watch Kyle. A smirk grew on his face underneath his helmet. "Excellent. That's what I was talking about. You can make new powers such as that. It was basically the same thing as your Rasoul projectile, but it made a right hook when it shot."
"Awesome! That was really cool!" Kyle exclaimed, excitement in his voice. He pulled his arm back and thrust it foward again, watching as the Rasoul energy once again shot out of his hands and curved to the right.
"You can also make it curve the other way if you use your left hand OR twist your wrist to the left when you shoot it," Mancer added.
"Awesome!"
"You seem fairly excited," Mancer noted, smiliing underneath his helmet.
"I am! It's so cool that I can make new, small abilities by trying different things with my powers!"
Mancer laughed a bit more, shaking his head slightly. "You're almost as energetic as my little brother... You actually remind me a lot of him..." He said, studying Kyle slightly.
"Wait, your little brother? You have a brother?" Kyle asked, fairly surprised. He turned his head to look at Mancer in surprise.
"...I have three brothers, actually... Anyway, yes, you remind me of the youngest one. I'm... the third oldest out of my three brothers and I," Mancer said.
"Really? Who are your brothers, Mancer? Can you tell me about them? How do I remind you of the youngest one?" Kyle asked, now very curious. He walked over to Mancer, sitting down next to him on the stone porch steps.
Mancer blinked his eyes a few times and remained silent for a short time, slightly surprised by Kyle's sudden barrage of questions. "Well... You're energetic, and very happy about learning new things about your powers... So that reminded me of my little brother. Plus, you look kind of like him. Well... At least your face kind of does. The way your eyes are shaped, and how big your smile is. Plus, your ears kind of remind me of his."
"Really? Is he a hedgehog like me?" Kyle asked, still very curious about Mancer's family.
"No, he's a Ni-... He's a fox," Mancer replied, hesitating after he stopped himself in the middle of his first sentence. "He's a fox." He said flatly, nodding his head slightly.
Kyle's keen ears were able to catch what Mancer started to say before he stopped himself, however. "He's a what? He's not a fox? Or is he some kind of mutant fox?" He paused for a moment, thinking about something else. "Wait... Does that make YOU a fox, Mancer? I can never see what you look like because of your helmet. But..." Kyle turned his head, looking at Mancer's long, straight, thin bright red tail. "Your tail doesn't look like a fox's tail..."
"My brother isn't exactly a mutant... And, no, I'm not exactly a fox."
"You're not a fox? Then... Are you a hybrid? You know, a mix between two or more different species?"
"...Yes, I suppose you could say that I'm a hybrid in a way..." Mancer paused silent, turning his head away just slightly to look away from Kyle. He acted almost like he was afraid that he had just said something that he shouldn't have said. "...Do you want to go to town for a while? Maybe we can go meet some of your friends or make sure Vice hasn't been up to anything?" He was desperately trying to change the subject.
Kyle wanted to continue his questions, but he was able to tell that Mancer was trying to change the subject. "...Well... I AM kind of curious where Vice went... I suppose I wouldn't mind going to town for a little while."
"Alright then, we can do that," Mancer said, standing up from the stone steps. "Should you go ask your parents if it's alright for you to go somewhere?"
"Yeah, I should. I'll go ask them now," Kyle said, also standing up. He walked towards the sliding glass door, about to go back inside.
"I'll meet you out front," Mancer said, already walking towards the side of the house. He held his hand up and waved it slightly to say good bye.
"Alright!" Kyle called, not really knowing if Mancer was close enough to hear him or not. He opened the sliding glass door and walked back inside his house to ask for permission to go to town with Mancer for a while.
I was born.
I loved Mommy.
Mommy didn't love me.
She let mean people take me away.
Bad Mommy.
I hate the mean people.
They tried to take my horns.
They tried to take my tail.
It hurt.
They made me mad.
I grabbed a sharp thingie.
Mean people fell asleep.
Red paint spilt all over.
I went back home.
I saw Mommy.
I was happy.
I hugged her.
Mommy screamed and pushed me.
Bad Mommy.
She waved an umbrella at me.
Mommy was being a bully.
Mommy needed to fall asleep too.
I found another sharp thingie.
I threw it.
Sharp thingie landed in Mommy's eye.
Mommy fell asleep.
Good bye Mommy.

i made blood a little weaker by removing some of his powers
the powers i left:
1.) Electricity
2.)Telekinisis
3.)mind control
4.) Berzerk form
Blood will remain a vampire that can be in the sunlight. and no he doesn't sparkle he just can't use his "vampire skills" in sunlight.
but i added more weaknesses to Blood.
1.) Blood has a weakspot in his chest which a well placed strike can smash his ribs
2.) since Blood is a Vampire, if his jaw is broken he can't feed and he will die
3.)when Blood uses Mind control he is left vulnerable.
4.)all though Blood can use electricity Blood is weak to electric attacks against him.
5.)When Blood's Berzerk form wears off he can't use ANY powers for a while so he is left open to any attack.
