Sonic Fan Characters Question

Directed to TakTheFox (And whoever else knows about Identitys)

Okay, so I wanna make an Identity Character (unlike me, I know) but I do. So...where do I start and what do I do? XD I know it has something to do with different DNA structures, but how do I do something like that? I'm at a loss. Also, if I could make an Identity Echidna, I'd like to do that.
