Sonic Fan Characters Question

Having trouble making character designs and clothing, any tips?

I've been trying to make good outfits (and characters) and I've been failing dozens of times! Anyone got a few tips or tricks they could share? I'd be very grateful and I'd owe a request to each person that shares a tip or trick. Thanks!

I suggest you look at pictures with clothing/character designs, and try to base off some outfits/designs from it. Seuris is an excellent example. Crazy-awesome outfits, and as an added bonus, amazing character designing.

MephilesTheDark and Emo-Bunny are alternatives. X3

Alright, a good tip for clothing on a character is to begin with the basics, such as a plain coloured shirt. Then add patterns or accessories that accompany the character's job, personality, or backstory. Hope it helped. :3

For clothes designing, I generally look at clothing magazines, or, if it's specialist clothing (like gothic lolita) I look on websites like Milanoo.com

As for actually designing the character, I can't really help you there o3o' I used to use Gen8's furry doll maker for some inspiration, though. Maybe that'll help you.

"What I usually do is look up pictures from video games that usualyl match what I'm feeling for.
"Then you just improve or take away from the outfit until it's yours. Stealing is sorta WRONG when it comes to clothing...so...
"Add stuff, even if it's a pocket zipper for a beanie or something.
"Another way is to just doodle. You might find something cool in the scribbles."
