How do you get your charachter that you drew to look like you got it online?

How I work digitally is I do a paper sketch, take a photo, and then open the file with paint.net.

I do the lineart in paint.net, and then save it as a TIFF image, before opening it with GIMP and using that to colour it in.

Both paint.net and GIMP are free to use, but so is Paint Tool Sai and sumopaint.com if you're interested in either of them.

You can always get a Graphic Tablet :P
You connect it with your PC/Laptop/whatever with USB or just the way it needs to be connected, blah.
Then open a program to draw in (MS Paint, Paint.net, Photoshop, GIMP, open Canvas, Artweaver, Photofiltre, WHATEVER)
And then... you just normally draw on the tablet with the tablet pen. (Look at the screen to see the line you make on the tablet xD)

i just use Paint.net to do the pictures. but sometimes MS paint before hand. so half the time im stuck with one pic for my life. Hers and example
