Sonic Fan Characters Question

Do you think it's a good idea to make a mermaid character?

It would be JUST a mermaid, mabey mix with a hedgie? ;3
But I have a mental picture of it all plained out in my sick little brain and I think it looks pretty awsome!... Mabey the art is alittle too complex for me though. What do YOU think? :L

I used to be HUGE on dragons. Hence my wing-anatomyness. P: European ones mainly, but the Eastern ones are cool too. I still like any fantasy creature though, dragons to mermaids, elves to hobbits. :3
