Can someone help me?

Ok...I've been seeing these icons with only their characters' eye shows in the pic. can u guys tell me how to do that with MY characters? I really wanna do that....it looks cool!

you then go to file/new and make your canvas the size of 100x100 pixels, and then you draw whatever you want on it, and you got what you want.
